Base Notes: Cedar, Patchouli, Sandal, Tonka, Musk, Moss, Vetiver, Amber
An incredible green chypre for men. Why this was ever discontinued is a great mystery to me. It is one of the best of its kind. The herbal notes — rosemary, lavender, and tarragon — take the lead, and are soon reinforced by a galbanum accord in the heart. The citrus, herbals, and spice in the top notes are transformed by the florals in the heart and a classic woody chypre drydown lingers with subtle green hues persisting until the end. If only it weren't so difficult to find! I have one bottle in reserve, and then... pfft!

YSL Kouros Eau de Sport (1986)

Kouros Eau de Sport was first released in 1986. It is the first, true Kouros flanker before the countless modulations, and it's also vintage Kouros. Basically, it's a very refined version of the vintage original with all the main elements there, but all of them are toned down by a very deft hand. It's not that it's weaker; it's smoother; there's no waiting for it to calm down like the original. It's beautiful right out the bottle and very close to the original vintage formulation, not so heavy on the animalic component and less heavy on the initial dose of coriander. It's hard to imagine why this was discontinued.

Oh wow. Tried on Caron L'ANARCHISTE - this is the definition of "unsettling." I've never tried anything quite like it. I thought Cedar would be prominent but it really isn't. It's an entirely new class of its own.

Plus, I LOVE the feel of the copper bottle in my fingers - I can't wait for it to change colour with aging! This was a fantastic purchase all around.

First wearing of Jaguar original having obtained a 5ml mini. At first I thought, "Ugh, I don't like this!" but throughout the day it has really grown on me - and the orange notes make it quite different from anything else I own. It seems strong and a bit powdery.

I see it is discontinued but still available, though I'm not sure I'd go for a full size bottle any time soon as my collection has grown rapidly of late!

It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. Happy Birthday to mikeperez!!!! He's gonna smell real good in all of those parfums today.
Safe travels to all who have to do the Thanksgiving rush today.
For me I luckily am staying local and am wearing:

    Canali Men

Thiis is an interesting melange of notes. It starts of with a fruit basket full of notes mostly citrus but some tart apple and pineapple add to the mix. This leads to a violet and jasmine heart before grounding itself in a delicate leather and amber base with hints of tonka and vetiver. This is quite the subtle light little construction not overpowering but surprisingly complex and a lot of fun to wear.
    Have a great Wednesday everyone.
