Default Poll: You Can Bring Back One Discontinued Scent...r/o

or restore one reformulated messed-up version of a scent,

    and you would choose?

(me ~ Giardini De Montecatini XII by Princess Marcella Borghese.
here's a great image of it (not affiliated:not my auction)...
    http://cgi.ebay.ca/BORGHESE-XII-MARC...1121123001r435

They also sell it here for, $500. OMG.
At my (ex) local The Emporium in CA, they use to toss samples of these two perfumes at people passing by the Borghese counter.

I thankfully still have a fb of the VI, but IIRC, the XII was a magnificent green/herbal scent.

There are a few, but if I had to choose ONE it would be Coty Chypre.

But that's today, usually I would choose my beloved Weils

I'm sure there are worthier candidates, but for me it has to be Jour de Fête. It was the fragrance that started me off in niche perfumery, and the first non-designer full bottle I bought. It's still widely available, of course, but since it's no longer in production, that's a matter of time. I can't justify a back-up bottle, having only just bought that full one, but I sure wish it would just remain safely anchored in stores. Like a security blanket, if you will.
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely products of a deranged imagination.

DJEDI!!! to name but one out of dozens!!! This is my holy grail. I don't know what they are waiting for. They could make a wad on these really good frags if they'd bring them back.

Bene' by Ben Rickert. Back in the very early 80's I used to get this for my DH from Fredrick and Nelson. It came in a cheap box with .5 oz of scent and a small soap for $5. This stuff drove me wild! It is the best man scent I have ever come across. If I had known they were going to stop making it I would have taken out a loan to stock up. It makes me sad knowing I will die and never get to smell this again.

Thanks, I've seen this but I heard people say that the stuff out there now is fake. Someone on this board bought some a few years back and they said it was not bene'. I think they only came in .5 oz bottles.

Yves Rocher's vie privee, it was just recently discontinued but like Veuve Amiot said it's like losing your security blanket and this is my favorite floral of all time.

Woodhue. My first signature scent. I can still smell it in my imagination. They make a copy now. Some company called 'Fragrances of France.' It's just NOT the same! Back to eBay I go!

This is bringing back memories. That Borghese Giardini De Montecatini XII was very nice. I had it, it came in a gift basket of spa goodies, including a big jar of the luscious body cream that was to die for. I also wore Laura Ashely No. 1 back in the day (with my Laura Ashley dresses, lol!). I can't think of any at the moment that haven't already been mentioned. It would be nice if some fragrances could come back in their original forms, rather than having to live with the reformulations.

Rive Gauche, the version from the 1970s. Runner-up would be Guerlain Vetiver.

I would also choose SO many, but if I could choose only one, it would be Laura Ashley Emma. I never felt prettier or more confident than when I wore that scent. Never.

Jean Marc Sinan. It was a woody, honeyed, rose before Knowing or any other came along. One-quarter ounce cost nearly $100 back in the 1980s. It smelled like money.

I second all the discontinued Guerlains too and I wish for Clarins' Elysium fragrance to b brought back. I still have a mini which I have buried somewhere in my closet!
Also I wish for Mitsouko to be the same as before.

I still have one from the 80's. It was a gift and at the time I didn't need it (a back-up), now I treasure it!
