The chocolate in Borneo 1834 is more of a earthy mineral cocoa rather than a gourmand chocolate.

From my recent read I got that Cartier VII L'Heure Defendue is really good. Didn't have a chance to sample.
And it can bite your wallet too...

Blue Agave and Cacao may be weird, but its yummy! If you do the Jo Malone advised thing of layering, and combine this with Black Vetyver Cafe... oh wow.

I bought like 10ml and there is something lacking in it. Can't put a finger on it, but just doesn't seem to work as well as the description of it would seem to indicate. I don't ever see any good feedback on it in here either.

I tried it while I was in Venice, but it was just a quick spray on the wrist and I walked out of the shop right after so my memory is a bit foggy about it. I remember it smelling pretty good but I might have been mistaken. I prefer my chocolate to be in the middle, not too dry or bitter and definitely not too sweet and overpowering.

My chocolate urge the other month was satisfied with Musc Maori
    I love it!
I tried Iris Ganache recently and that is definitely something I'll need to explore again.

^^ Am I the only one who gets a creamy orange from Musc Maori?

Chocolate Greedy has been on the menu this week and I'm letdown. Very simple, basic.. smells like one of those inexpensive "chocolate fragrance oils" people use for candles and whatnot, quite synthetic, sticky sweet, one trick pony. After 5 minutes I want to tap out.. the search continues.

It really depends on what kind of chocolate fragrance you're after...

In the end, I didn't purchase Gourmand Coquin. I doused myself in it, while in Paris, on two separate occasions and it just failed to come to life. Based on several arm testings, it was divine but full wearings were disappointing. I was expecting an epiphany, like SDV, but it never came.

If anyone's looking for a lush vanilla and chocolate combo, Al-Rehab's Choco Musk is superb. Affordable with crazy tenacity and incredible sillage. It's also not as synthetic-smelling as most Al-Rehabs.

My favorite is Vanille Chocolat by Les Senteurs

I just recently sampled Smell Bent's Hungry Hungry Hippies. The opening is delicious and smells like freshly baked (pot) brownies out of the oven. Does it get any better?
    My current favorites:

Bleu De Chanel, Creed Green Irish Tweed, Zino Davidoff, Dior Homme Intense, Creed Royal Oud, M7 (all versions), Chanel Egoiste, Dior Homme Sport, and Thierry Mugler Pure Malt.

Shariff the owner and perfumer of Agarscents makes some pretty nice mixtures. The advantage though goes totally to the quality of his ingrediants. He uses the real deal. When you read 'Musk" in the ingrediants it is real deer's musk
    Real Musk 3ml = $430 !

Sounds like an interesting line alright !

Hijacking a little bit to mention two new scents I just smelled last month, Criollo 1 and Criollo 2 by L'O profumo (a niche store in Florence). Criollo 1 is a very realistic, intense semisweet chocolate. Criollo 2 is chocolate cookies (but stronger on the chocolate than on the cookies).
