Exclamation Long lasting and monster sillage

    Hi All,

I want your suggestions regarding a long lasting and monster sillage perfume for men. EDP or EDT is fine. Anything apart from the ones mentioned below:

Loved One's: Acqua Di Gio, Joop Homme, D & G, Hugo dark blue and Polo sport.
Dislikes: Safari cologne, Drakkar noir or anything similar.

My top three long lasting scents with "monster sillage" are:

    1. A*men
    2. Joop Homme
    3. Le Male

I've had a bottle of each one since 2004 and I'm not even half way through any of them. 1-2 sprays are all I need for these giants.

From what I've tried. Le Male, D&G PH, and Armani Code. No wonder those are popular. Someone listed Allure Blanche. I wished the sillage lasted a few hours more. It stays close to the skin on me after 30 minutes. It had a sparkling punch that others can smell for the first half hour though.

I am only going to recommend really good ones, as much as possible within your tastes; not just loud and lasting ones, as some of the recs I see.

Serge Lutens: Borneo/ Vetiver Oriental/ Bois de violette/ Fumerie Turque/ Arabie/ Serge Noire/Ambre Sultan (not sure if those fall under your preferences which encompass aquatics, but I insist you try to locate samples and try them out)
    Amouage Jubilation
    Chanel Antaeus
    Frederic Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire
Piguet Bandit (great on a man!)

i'd personally stay FAR away from a*men and joop if i was you, i have a 3.4oz bottle that i'd be more than willing to give away if anyone here lives in queens. Joop isnt THAT bad but a*men(in my opinion) is the simply vile.
    the first three that comes to mind are;
    le male
    issey miyake
    dior fahrenheit

Out of the ones that I own Terre d'Hermes and B*Men give me both longevity and sillage. They're also great fragrances that I enjoy wearing. I will actually wear B*Men today.

I totally agree with A*man being in this category. The unlished monster of sillage. Really lasting. Can't think of any other as potent as this one. Very pleasant if not abused. Magical after a few hours..

In reality the truth is that sillage depends on the quantity you apply, your skin, and the sensitivity of the people around you to the cologne. A scandalous cologne doesn't necesarily mean that it is a good cologne. When it comes to strength in good (and also bad) cologne, to me the undefeated master is A*Man....but OMG how mean can this cologne be!!!

A*men is VERY strong. So is the feminine Angel. Can tell someone is wearing either from across the street.

Most of these scents are very powerful upon initial blast and then they relax later. But only when sprayed on the skin, so take that into consideration. There is one scent that has impressed me with it's ridiculous output. That will be Tom Ford's Black Orchid. This stuff is really persistent. For an EdP, trhe sillage is incredible too. The only problem is it dries down to an uninteresting vanilla and the chocolatey cucumber smell disappears after a few hours.

Opium PH EdP is another one big on sillage. It's very intense in the first 4-5 hours and can fill up a room. Very hot and spicy stuff too. Afterwards it gets really quiet and a lot more intimate.

Joop! isn't the beast it's made out to be. It's loud if you spray excessively (More than 6 sprays). On clothes it'll howl all day but on skin it calms down after 2 or 3 hours.

A*Men is the same story as Joop!. It's fairly powerful and I'd say slightly more intense than Joop!

Michael Kors is a sillage powerhouse. More than A*Men and Joop!. While it wont punch you as hard in the face when you first spray it, it keep's a lot of it's strength all through it's development. It's one of those you will constantly notice. It shines in cold weather too.

Kouros. Depending on how much you use, it can be two different scents. I sprayed twice on my chest one day and my girlfriend couldn't stop sniffing me. Then I sprayed double that and she told me whatever I was wearing was dreadful. This stuff is persistent and it keeps its strength really nicely.

Jaipur Pour Homme EdP - Slightly overrated in terms of sillage. It's not a nuclear bomb, but it'll last very very well.

Guerlain Vetiver - This stuff is perfection. This for me is the benchmark of strength in men's fragrances. It has 'days'. When I first tested it, it stayed on my exposed wrist for slightly under 72 hours. Thats with a couple of showers in between! Now when i spray it, it'll go for about 12 hours or more. Sillage is moderate and people will smell it on you. It just won't invade an entire room like freshly sprayed Acqua Di Gio.

Most of my other stuff doesn't last THAT long on me. Usually between 6-8 hours with below average projection.
