Default Creed Millesime or Creed Irish Tweed

If you had a choice, which would you buy?

I've tried both on my body chemistry and the longevity of both seem quite similar, with the edge going to GIT.

I like Creed Millesime from the start while GIT I had to wait for the top notes to go down a bit before I really could enjoy it. Likeability edge - Creed Millesime

I want an all purpose cologne to use in all seasons for any occasion. Right now, it's about 40 degrees outside where i am, so maybe I'm not experiencing the full versatility of either.

    Which would you choose?

Well, as someone who owns 12 full bottles of Imperial, I would have to say go with Imperial. But you can't go wrong with Green Irish Tweed, it is a classic. Erolfa is really good too, trust me I know, I just ordered my 4th 8.4 oz flacon of the stuff today...I usually keep only one or two extra bottles of my frags, so the fact that I have so many should say something about how good the fragrances are.

I really love a good bottle of GIT. It's pure magic. Imperiale is also really good too, though. If I had the money I'd get both.

    Can only afford one.

Found a good deal on fragrancenet for a 4 OZ GIT for 126.

    I only have around 180.

I would be careful to go with a reputable dealer for creed fragrances, the popular scents such as millisime imperial and GIT in particular. There are alot of cheap knock offs going around. (probably most of the crap sold on ebay)

From what I read many members here vouch for the authenticity of scentiments. Personally I didn't want to take any risk and purchased mine at Neiman Marcus. You can open a charge and pay the difference within 1-3 months.

If you like citrus notes I would go with the millisime imperiel, and if you like a sweet, some what green opening go with GIT.

Whatever you do don't buy some cheap knock off and come here complaining that it smells just like polo! Because I swear that's the problem with most of the people that come here complaining about these fragrances.

Another idea is that you can split a 8.4 oz flask that retails for $320, and if you split it two ways its 4.2 oz for $160. The only down side is that you need an atomizer and storage flask which you can get from a company in brooklyn NY (madina industrial) for a very low price. Then you don't have to face the risk of buying a fake creed.

I'm getting it from Beauty Encounter.

I made several phone calls to their staff questioning the legitimacy of the stock. It sounds legit.

I even brought up the old bottle issue and they didn't even flinch.

It's a tester bottle, so I don't think I should have any problems.

IMO, Green Irish Tweed is more versatile.

imho, Creed Himalaya is the *most* versatile.

It doesn't have a distinct (violet) note that GIT / CW has, and it's just quite anonymous.

But GIT is more versatile than MI, which is more of a casual scent than anything else.

    And lasts in cold weather.
But it's not a matter of which to buy. It is which to buy 1st. These 2 are absolute pinnacles of their respective styles.

While I very much like the drydown of Himalaya, I disagree.
In hot weather, Himalaya does not fare as well as GIT.
In all other settings/weathers, I'd say they both fit in equally (including formal settings).

I purchased Himalaya and MI both from Fragrancenet and they are both real and fresh.
MI is probably best for real hot weather but Himalaya is my favorite overall. GIT is also excellent!.

    NOTE:
When I compare price per once here in Canada, my 4oz. Himalaya costs LESS than Armani Code or YSL L'Homme!

Have you tried Davidoff's Cool Water or Sean John's Unforgivable yet

I went with MI because GIT seems to be gaining on the market and it seems a bit formal for me. Also I was worried about purchasing GIT online because it is probably the most commonly counterfeited Creed.

MI, while light, always makes me smile when i wear it. (I had a 1.5 mL vial to try out)

    My first Creed purchase!

I'm probably going to have to pick up GIT sooner or later though.
