Red face I want to buy Le Male again :o

Le Male is to the Netherlands what Aqua di Gio is to Europe.

I swore I'll never buy it again because of it's popularity. I used to wear it when I was 16. Now I've tried so much fragrances, and some niche, I feel the urge to own Le Male again..I have this urge since yesterday, before that I would never even consider of buying it again.

Since I've been a Basenotes member I tried so much fragrances, that it feels somehow comfortable returning to good ol' Le Male once in a while (or Code for that matter).

I dunnow when I have the urge to buy something I always end up buying it. Even though I own a lot of fragrances that are similar and even better in it's category: Joop Jump, Lolita Au Masculin, Body Kouros, Santana (slightly the same).

I was thinkin of instead of Le Male buying Panama 1924 by Boellis cause they say it's the original version of which Le Male is a ripoff...

Has anyone ever felt this urge to buy AdG / Le Male even though you own lots of niches and better designerfrags?

Ive not owned any Le Male for many years , yesterday I was trying it again and almost tempted to get another bottle but felt a twinge of guilt for some reason so put it back on the shelf

Le Male is pretty popular here in the States, too (though not as popular around here as Acqua di Gio or D&G Light Blue Pour Homme, the two best-sellers in the USA). Still, when I was in Chicago recently, I smelled Le Male everywhere, just like I smelled Angel and Beautiful on the ladies... either the result of "get in the crowd" word-of-mouth or very effective TV/print/in-store marketing by BPI. And it's popular here in Fort Wayne, too.

But I still own it, wear it, and love it.

I, too, like Le Male and really don't care if others feel it's too popular. Sometimes you need to fit in. Plus it's good fun to wear.

I too find it's really fun to wear. I'm guess the man in the can is going to be back in my wardrobe after 7 years

I'm feeling this twinge of guilt too...Guess I'm trying to justify it by posting this topic

I wore it forever, before it got insanely popular.

    I then put it down.

I have now, picked it back up as in my area I almost never smell it anymore.

The short answer is: No. When I get sentimental or start trying to justify a designer or discount-store purchase, I remember that I will wear it, at most, every 4-6 months and thus I'm just throwing money away. For me, it's better to get a handful of niche samples or decants than a fragrance I'm not going to wear.

And I don't think the LeMale or AdG phenomena are unique to Europe. The stuff flies off the shelf in the US, too.

I like it too but I am going to hold off for the Terrible flanker and most likely purchase that in the fall - I am sure it will be everywhere here in the States.
