It's my turn to be wearing Annayaké's

    Miyako

I've learned to love this soft incense scent, mainly due to its initially cold incense notes quickly warming and being supported by spices (cinnamon, love it!) and woods.

    Have a fab Friday!

I'm seriously considering buying some Tabu. I have a vague recollection of liking it back when it was a relatively new fragrance (yes, I know, I'm that old!). Would you mind reminding me what it smells like? I'm thinking it's an oriental and quite heavy, but I could be wrong...

Happy Birthday Stuigi! And many happy returns.

For the record, last nights SotE was Annayake Yukimi the scent of winter. Absolutely delightful.

Today it's Ava Luxe Loukhoum which is a lovely version of Turkish Delight. I don't think it will last more than 4 hours, though (fading already) so later on it will be another Annayake fragrance. I love that house.

Today, I wore... nothing! That is, until I started sampling like mad. I've got Profvmvm Dambrosia on left, Profvmvm Olibanum on right, Tam Dao near my elbow and Donna Karan Wengé near the other elbow. Whew.
Dambrosia is quite lovely, and STRONG. It starts out exactly like the drydown of Tam Dao, which I adore and had half a mind of buying today. I didn't because I encountered this one first. Could it be - a Tam Dao without the sharp top? But no, as it progresses it grows louder and sweeter, and there's a coconutty vibe to it. One spray of it overpowers the other three perfumes completely, and it shows no sign of wavering yet. This won't be a buy for me, I like my perfumes to be *much* more subtle than this. If you're looking for sillage & longevity, though: indulge. With caution.
Tam Dao went on next to compare. Today, for the first time, I got the incense swirling across the drydown. It punctuates the creamy woodiness very nicely indeed. It's perfect and will make its way into my wardrobe soon.
Profvmvm Olibanum starts out as a sister scent to the Incense Series; peppery/woody top and a quickly emerging true frankincense heart. It's soft-spoken and utterly wearable. Loving this more as it dries down to a meditative skin scent.
Wengé is getting lost in the olfactory tsunami that is Dambrosia, but what I get of it is quite lovely. Soft, creamy woods, only slightly sweet. I scored a sample of it, though, and will retry.
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely products of a deranged imagination.

I didn't think I'd care for it at first, but I'm becoming quite smitten as the day wears on. Maybe I'll wear this for tomorrow's Sniff 'n Speak, though I'm not sure it qualifies as an "Oriental". SO interesting....I came home, changed into jammies, and - in anticipation of Glorious Orientals for tomorrow - spritzed on a long time fave Tabu. Before I came back downstairs and read Lilybelle's and Clemmie's posts!!

Tabu never fails to amaze and delight. When I was much younger and tried to wear it, it was harsh and shriek-y and never went away. Now that I am of a golden age it is smooth and sexy, ambered and subtly alive with patch and sandalwood and a hint of flowers. Unassuming sillage and great longevity.

Clemmie - I'll happily send you some (check out the BN reviews) . Still got your info...just lemme know!!
