I can't be of any practical help but:
a)I am damned jealous you are dreaming of frags and
b)it actually sounds very nice!
I've obviously been spending way too much time on Basenotes!
Last night I had a dream about a fragrance, and unlike many dreams, the impression of what the fragrance smelled like was quite clear. ( I should have asked for a sample from the woman who showed it to me in the dream... but I have a feeling I couldn't have taken it back with me!)
The fragrance was a rose and violet centered, heavier on the rose than the violet. It was very smooth, cool, and mossy ( coincidentally the rose note strongly reminded me of a moss rose ). It was a predominantly floral fragrance though, not a chypre or fougere, and it wasn't particularly oriental or powdery.
It's likely a fragrance that exists in my mind's nose - "mind's eye" is the wrong term for a fragrance - alone, but all the same, I find myself wanting a fragrance that smells just like it.
Other likely pointless details from the dream were that is was a womens fragrance and an older fragrance, though given its smell, I wouldn't be surprised if that was true of its real life equivalents.

"It's now very common to hear people say "I'm rather offended by that." As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well so fucking what." - Stephen Fry
I thought I was the only one who had dreams where I smell things. We. Are. Not. Alone.![]()
I dream about perfumes all the time. Most of the time I am in an amazing store or boutique, confronted with scents I have never seen and smelled before, or scents that have long been discontinued. I love those dreams!
It makes me think of the limited edition springtime versions of YSL Paris.

Quelques Fleurs?

My first thought was Bulgari pour Femme. It is cool and smooth with lovely violet and rose notes, but I don't think mossy. Some reviews complain of the powder, but it doesn't turn powdery on me.
I dream of perfumes quite a bit. But I read BN right before going to bed a lot of times.![]()
I've trademarked the color bleu
I just read somewhere that in Paris EDP the rose is more dominant than in the EDT. Some consider Paris powdery, but to me and on me, it's more fresh.
One of the few fragrance dreams (where I dreamt in scent) was about trying Jo Malone Red Roses- which is classified on the Osmoz site as a rose-violet scent. In my dream it was a very green rose scent, clear and earthy (stems). Still have not sampled IRL.
Paris is very powdery on me, but I find Paris Jardins Romatiques (the 2007 spring edition) not powdery in the least, with its grass, lilac, muguet and mandarin notes.
I dream fragrance, too.
And I eat and taste in my dreams.
I bet you really did smell something similar in your waking hours, and I hope you find it because you are longing for this scent.
I initially thought of Parfums de Rosines Une Folie de Rose...in any case this is a line you should and must explore if you are dreaming of roses, my friend!
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." What I am loving right now: Shalimar vintage extrait, Chanel Bois des Iles, Chanel no. 22, Le Labo Iris 39, Guerlain Iris Ganache
Paris (I prefer edt because it's more sparkly than the edp, to me) and Bulgari pour Femme seem like good recommendations. I also frequently dream about fragrance. Usually I discover a hidden or forgotten cache of vintage fragrances. I hate waking up from those dreams to find out it isn't true! Most recently, it was a small bottle of vintage Je Reviens parfum, the round bottle with the blue juice. it smelled amazing. Now I'm craving it in my waking life.
I dream about perfumes, too, often ones that i know , and i smell them in my dreams. So far I haven't created or discovered any in my dreams. What a wonderful phenomenon!
I immediately thought of Parfums de Rosine, too, maybe Rose de Rosine.

Lipstick Rose was the first scent that came to mind for me, but it isn't at all mossy.
Gee, I'm envious. Can't wait until I have a fragrance dream! I dream about my cats, too, beachroses! And my other passions, including food and hula. So I'm sure fragrance will be showing up one of these days.
GB, your description reminded me of Stéphanie de Saint-Aignan's Le Pot Aux Roses. It does have a somewhat powdery quality, though, so not sure.
