Default Well Mr. Gaultier pushed the envelope once again for men!

He is the first in the mainstream market to present the first male solid parfum!

Read below - courtesy of Vogue France and Fragrantica -

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Necklace with Pendant

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Bijou Parfume for women will hit the shelves in February 2009. Besides this fragrant, feminine accessory, a necklace for men will also be available in shape of a silver plate which hides solid perfume Le Male in itself.

A new edition of solid perfume Prix Plaque militaire Jean-Paul Gaultier Le Male is available as a military pendant which contains aromas of the irresistible Le Male. Perfume colour is combined in two shades of blue, which marked the design of the bottle – motive of a sailor T-shirt with stripes. Price of this edition will be around 45 euro

I love solid fragrances, thanks to Gaultier perfumes for this much needed way to get your fragrance into your carry-on during this Golden Age of Homeland Security bullsh*t!

It's in a semi-solid base, like a chap stick. You rub your finger on it and then apply it to your body.
It's not liquid, so it doesn't have to be put into a zip lock bag and put through the x-ray machine. Less chance of breaking or loosing your precious fragrance.

    Whoaaaaa

I'm guessing that it doesn't have the sillage and longevity of the liquid version though?

Solid perfumes have been around for decades. They've been mostly available as female fragrances. Estee Lauder to Lush does them.

Yup, I remember when I was younger I got some solid perfumes as gifts. I can't remember what they were, though. I think this is a neat idea, & the jewelry concept is pretty cool. I may consider getting the LeMale one.

Solids are great. Not easy to find. I'll snag one. b-t-w, Longevity is better as it is in suspension.

Doesn´t Serge Lutens do the same with his wax samples? Makes sense, since both brands are made by Shiseido.

I don't wear jewelry and I don't particularly like LeMale, but that IS pretty neat.
    Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah
