Default I don't find the EDT I want

    Hi, I'm Stephan from Belgium.
I'm searching for a long lasting EDT/EDP with a fresh floral (and soapy?) dry down.
I don't like too much vanilla or aquatics.
I really don't like citrus and leather.
I've never smelled a Lutens scent that didn't make me feel bad.
Creed and L'Artisan Parfumeur have zero longevity on my skin.
I prefer to avoid niche scents, only if they are really worth the money.

Can you guys help me out?
I will even wear a woman fragrance if it's not toooooo obvious.

    I've tried Mugler Cologne.
It's soapy, but not floral and it doesn't last (similar to Photo Lagerfeld but Photo seems better).

    Thank you!!!

    Paco Rabbane XS pour Homme
    Dolce & Gabbanna pour Homme

Both are soapy and floral to me. Not the same, though.

I am not sure if Iris is actually preciselya floral or a herbal note, but Infusion d'Homme is floral, soapy and longlasting on me. Dry soap (not aquatic), that is.

Esencia Loewe (might be too strong, at first, but the drydown is discreet, elegant and NEVER too strong), most scents by J del Pozo, especially On El might also work well and even Dior Homme and Fahrenheit 32, also by Dior.

    Thank you Ken!
I thought this one was more wood and leather, not floral?

    Thank you!
XS smells very nice, but my skin doesn't get the dry down that I can smell on my friends, that's a pitty.
I don't like D&G, very soft and citrusy scent to my nose.

Have you tried Gendarme V? If I remember correctly, it's a soapy floral. It's a very clean soapy and not heavy.

    Thank you, good idea!

    Iris is floral.
Should I try Infusion d'Iris pour femme?
Its longevity sounds better than Infusion d'Homme in the reviews.

I haven't tried the female one yet, but why not, it's supposed to be rather unisex.

Why not try Kiehl's Original Musk Oil, it's very soapy and fresh/clean smelling on me.

Sounds very nice, but where can I find it in Belgium?
I can't find any dealer in Belgium on their website.
I've once bought some fragrances from a fr....x.com website, and those scents seemed to be too old to be sold in a store, so I'm afraid.

    I'm very tempted.

Reading your openingpost, Infusion D'Homme instantly came to my mind. But I saw someone else recommending it, so I went for Grabazzi, that is like a cousin of Infusion D'Homme, but more "classic". Infusion D'Homme has great longetivity, I know this cause a friend of mine uses it and I'm able to smell him all the time, for hours.

    Nice!
Isn't it too animalic, and can animalic smell clean?
I can buy thi one here in Belgium, and it isn't too expensive.

Also, I love the design of the bottle, sooo classic.

I guess it depends on your skin. I've heard some says it's a bit animalistic, but on me it's just clean/floral/fresh, the topnotes can sometimes be a bit earthy/dirty, but it won't stay long. Also, I have never tried the EDT, only the oil (one drop is enough).

    Musk Oil "Original" Essence 14ml 31.00 €

How many drops will I have with that?
How long does it last on you?
Where do you put the drop? (I've never used perfumed oils.)

That's the one I've got. One drop would be enough, no more than two. It lasts all day and I usually rub it on my wrists, and a little on my lower neck. But I suggest you try it before you buy it, this is a fragrance that reacts with your skin. On some it will smell like sh*t...

fresh floral, soapy and not niche? that's easy! Just some must try suggestions:
Prada Infusion d'homme (lots of neroli with hints of iris)
Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta (bulgarian rose + citrus notes)
Asprey Purple Water (lavender, neroli and citrus notes)

I would like to add Divine's L'Homme de Coeur and Frederic Malle's Carnal Flower and Lys Méditerrannée.

For some reason I believe, that a person who doesn't like citrus notes could still love for example Czech & Speake's Neroli or D'Orsay's Etiquette Bleue. I could be wrong though.

I like the first two of those three, but as the OP doesn't like citrus, he probably might just stay away from your suggestions But I still think Infusion d'Homme would be a promising one, because while there is neroli in it, it doesn't come across as a normal citrus scent because of the iris, which creates a VERY noticable floral dimension on my skin.

    Tried both today:

Infusion d'Homme just doesn't last on my skin (and I don't like the dry down).

Infusion d'Iris does have a very good longevity, and it is quite linear.
The sillage is subtle, but so pleasing.
Very nice (but not sensual) scent for young/old woman for the winter/summer for every day wear or for special occasions.
Perfect fragrance for a women ... but not for a man, too obviously feminine, no doubt possible.

    Oh c'mon fakepurseninja,
none of these are plain citrus scents (I myself am not a big fan of pure citruses). In fact all of them have citrus blended so to create a very floral/soapy vibe rather than being just citrussy. And after all neroli is a flower, of course of an orange tree, but still a flower

I m afraid the one scent (of the ones that I have tried) that fits the discreption is Domenico Caraceni Eau de Toilette ( http://www.ausliebezumduft.de/kosmet...81&language=en) and it is a niche. Not terribly expensive. Several Montales would also qualify. And probably from the female scents Ralph Lauren Lauren.

If you don't mind an opening of citrus, Derring-Do for men by Ineke is worth checking out. It has a wonderfully light and ethereal magnolia heart note that has just enough woods supporting it to keep it from smelling feminine.

I know you haven't had luck with L'Artisans but I'm testing their newest today - Fleur de Liane - and it's still noticeable, with mild sillage, after 6 hours. It is a very dewy, lightly green floral that smells very true to real plants. It also has a grassy/green leaf accord that helps steer it clearly into the unisex category.
