Mine would be Guerlain Vetiver and Rive Gauche pour Homme
Do you have an all-purpose fragrance? By that, I mean something you often choose for day-to-day wear because you know it just plain works in any situation.
I gather that most people on here wear a variety of fragrances. I have been doing that too and have been getting a lot of fun and pleasure out of it. But sometimes I wonder whether people have a particular favorite for general use. I’m not sure signature scent is the appropriate term for this because I’m not thinking about something that specifically identifies you—more like a reliable friend you always know you can turn to no matter what.
I’m not sure I have one yet. Do you?
Thanks.
Mine would be Guerlain Vetiver and Rive Gauche pour Homme

Mine would be Dior Homme I think. I wear it most weekdays, and although I have lots of other great smelling scents, some days I feel almost like I'm cheating if I don't wear DH! For me, it seems to work well in all weather (spray less in summer though), and in all situations - scruffy clothes, or dinner suit.
For me, this is probably a signature scent too because I wear it so often. Some days I wish we worked less and had longer weekends so I can change what I wear a bit more often!

Pretty much my whole wardrobe is versatile now. I got rid of all my heavy vanilla/oriental scents and have been attracted to lighter, cleaner scents as of late.

Montale - Red Vetyver
Bleecker St. - Bond no.9
I'd also go with Dior Homme, followed by Pour Monsieur (1955)
Giorgio for Men - was my everyday scent for many years.
Azzaro pour Homme - if not for Basenotes and the resurrection of Giorgio for Men, could easily have become my everyday fragrance.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

Any season, any time of the day or night, these work for me.
Green Irish Tweed in winter and fall Chrome spring and summer.
Terre d'Hermes with a slight bias toward warmer weather and Caron 3e de Homme with a slight bias to colder weather, though both work well in any season.

Thanks for your replies. I always like to see what different people have to say on here, and this is certainly a variety. I own a few of the fragrances named. I find it interesting that Dior Homme was mentioned a couple of times. I own it and I love it, but I see it as more of an indulgence fragrance than an all-purpose one. It seems special to me, so I deliberately don’t wear it much because I don’t want to wear it out, if that makes any sense. That does give me an idea for another thread, though, but I think I will spare you!
Thanks again.
My wardrobe trends toward the all-purpose, but I will reach for the following in any situation, as they are quite versatile for me:
Guerlain Vetiver
Green Irish Tweed
Burberry Brit for Men
Dunhill (2003)
Richard James
Terre d'Hermes
Eau Lente is always a winner for me.![]()
Himalaya works from summer to winter, from the gym to professional meetings.

I'd have to go with Hermes Equipage, which I have in the vintage formulation.
Coolwater
Mitsouko. Ambre Gris, Guerlain Vetiver, Un Jardin Sur le Nil, and Arpege Pour Homme layered with Hermes Hiris.
It WAS Fahrenheit, before I got this reformulated bottle...
The reformulation is not such a masterpiece, but I weared it 2 or 3 times and I have to say it's still better than most of the newish crap, if you're in the mood and can accept the changings.
But not my all-around anymore.
Ok, I don't have an all-purpose frag at this moment, I just posted to complain a bit more about Fahrenheit.
MI in Summer
GIT and Hermes D'Orange Verte anytime
I'm still deciding from a group that includes:
AdP Colonia Assoluta
Dior Homme
Scent Intense (Costume National)
L'Homme (YSL)
Terre d' Hermes
This group could grow to include: M7 Fresh based on first impressions

I suppose my go to's would be GIT, L'Anarchiste, Third Man, Caron PuH, Guerlain Vetiver, Chanel Sycmore and in the summer, Green Valley from Creed.
Creed MI
Terre d' Hermes
Mugler Cologne
Lancome Hypnose and Gucci Pour Homme 2
