    Default Your go-to fragrance

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I couldn't locate a thread. Anyway, what is your go-to fragrance for a big night out? By that I mean dates, clubs, ect., not anything really formal.

Depends on the weather for me. I think Villoresi's "Uomo" outperforms my older "go to" fragrance with a similar composition, Acqua di Parma Colonia. That's for mild/warmer evenings. Looking to add Creed's MI to the wardrobe for warm, summer day lunches with a linen suit, sandals, that sorta thing.

For a visit to the steakhouse and a show afterward in colder weather I look towards something warmer and spicy. Varvatos was a great one, Piper Nigrum (Villoresi) been a great one and now I'm adding Bois du Portugal. I really find the "sweetness" isn't allowed to dominate from these in colder weather - instead you have a spicy, rich, warm melody of notes.

Down here smelling perfume is considered tacky. Thus, "close to the skin" scents like Eau Sauvage, Monsieur de Givenchy or local scents, like Ambré or Johore by James Smart, are appropiate .

Even though I like them, I don't wear fragrance bombs at all on when getting out of home.

Armani Code, until I find something better. It does well in colder weather, and every lady I've been involved with in any romantic sense seems to like it. Such are the joys of living in a small town, even relatively common stuff isn't common here!

I second the Concentree d'Orange Verte for summertime, having just worn it today and loving it, I can only imagine it'll be much better with warm weather!

I wore L´ Anarchiste last night for date, it was a risky choice but on purpose chosen. It well all very well and she was intrigued by it. She did not say if she liked it , intrigued was the word. She was not able to tell me what she was smelling.
Before my date and before and strong shower I wore Acier Aluminium, somehow traces or acier got in the mix with L Anarchiste.... you can imagine the result, chaos, psychedelic.... yes I manage to come right, successful night.

Hard Question. The qualification to be in my drobe is to be a go to fragrance. That said, everything in my drobe I would go to. The deciding factor is my mood that particular morning.

You know, I have to completely agree with this one Scentologist. I've always wondered what people meant by asking such questions as what's a "go to" frag; by definition, if you buy it and it's in your wardrobe, it's a "go to" frag. Everything really depends on personal mood and, of course, what feelings in others you're trying to create!

Perhaps a better question (for me anyway) is, what frag do you wear more often than others?

I see what you're saying about every fragrance in your wardrobe being a go-to fragrance for different situations;however, I think that's a more complicated answer than what I was hoping for. Given the circumstances that I presented(date or club), which fragrance do you tend to go with most often? Thanks for the replies.

I consistently reach for Cartier Declaration several times a week. Otherwise - Mugler Cologne, Bvlgari Black, and Knize Ten.

Bvlgari Black is my go-to frag, although, I'm digging Diesel Fuel For Life lately. My wife loves Very Sexy as my go-to scent. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit this, but at times, Paul Sebastian is a good go-to scent, maybe it's a comfort scent.

I think of "go-to" as the "default-when-you-can't-decide" fragrance. For me, that would be Rive Gauche PH - works in every situation.

My "go to fragrance" keeps changing all the time. And so I have developed quite a collection. Probably half my collection of fragrances right now were go to fragrances at one point in time or another. I like to revisit them often. Choices are good.

    YSL Rive Gauche PH
    Bulgari PH
    Creed Erolfa
    Avignon
    Gucci PH
    Declaration Essence
    Rose 31

    etc

under the initial post's circumstances (a night out/date), my go-tos would be either Derby or Antaeus. My general can't-thin-of-anything-else go tos would be Helmut Lang EdP or Mouchoir de Monsieur.

For now, and as long as it lasts (sigh) Eau Sauvage Fraicheur Cuir. It's ES opulence without the dirty little smirk. Stictly go-to, though, when all else may fail, as I never want to run out.
