Default Looking for lighter alternative to Terre d Hermes

I like Terre d Hermes but there is something a note in it that just not agree with me..there is a certain smell that starts to annoy me. I get a compliment on the scent here and there, so I was wondering if there is something close to it ut lighter.

Somebody posted a website sometime ago that if you picked a certain cologne that this site would find the 2 closest results...does anyone remember that website. Thanks

Consider Everlast Original 1910, which also has the advantage of being cheap right now. It's a citrus leather with a little spice. Just don't make the mistake I did, which was to smell it up close on the skin.

Two scents that are quite close and worth sniffing:

    Montale Red Vetyver
    Cartier Declaration
    ***For sale:

    Iris Pallida 50ml

    Ungaro I 75ml

    and more!

Of a similar vibe - bright citrus - but without the mineral elements, is Lubin Eau Neuve. I tested it against TdH just last week. It's available at Aedes.com (as are samples)

I would also suggest trying Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche it is an excellently constructed citrus scent.
I also very much agree with the Montale Red Vetyver and Cartier Declaration recs.

To repeat what's already been said - Cartier Declaration and Sel de Vetiver. I'll also add Poivre Samarcande.

If you like the mineral in TdH I think you'll like L'Artisan Passage d'Enfer.

Nina Ricci's Memoire d'Homme is an almost exact precursor to TdH; closer even than Declaration, which I agree is pretty close.

I'll second the Cartier Declaration suggestion.

Now some may not agree on the Terre d'Hermes-Declaration similarities, but the other day I was surprised when I was wearing Declaration, and someone commented on how similar it is to "that other fragrance you used to wear" - they meant TdH.

My brother disagrees wholeheartedly with this. Terre d'Hermes is his holy grail, but he doesn't like Declaration, and he finds no similarity whatsoever between the two.
Looking for a sample of Gucci Envy Me.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried Cartier Declaration and it is very close but seems to be stronger more overpowering scent. I was looking for something close to Terre d Hermes but a little lighter without that sharp annoying note.
Now I am not the expert you all are, but there has to be a something that is a lighter version of Terre d Hermes.

Try Ferragamo F - the orange isn't as sharp, and it's a little softer with a bit of powder in it. I love it!

Paul Smith Story has similarities to TDH. I'd recommend checking PMS out. I like it a lot, good longevity, clean, fresh ... oranges/grapefruit, cedar wood and a hint of musk is mostly what I detect.

I am using Declaration and TdH since 6 months in rotation and think that declaration isnīt a lighter TdH or very similar to it. I couldnīt test declaration ESSENCE version which could be similar i donīt know.

And i donīt agree with declaration original is more is stronger than TdH. I find it lighter and fresher.

They definitely have different topnotes, etc., but the Iso E Super overload in both makes them recognizably similar.

I like everything about TdH, but especially the long lasting vetiver scent. Maybe Guerlain or any of the other highly rated vetivers would work for you.

Thanks I will try Paul Smith Story and Ferragamo F. Its not that I don't like Terre d Hermes but there is a note that is to sharp for my nose I can't pin point the note but its annoying.

    Solo Loewe

A similar use of orange (mandarin) & mineral accord (wet stone.) Though Solo comes on strong at first, it quickly becomes tame and produces a moderate sillage (on my skin.)

    Just get Z-14 !
TDH is like liquid Jaffa's .. (( chocolate balls coated in orange candy )) not sure if US & UK bn's are familiar ...
To me side by side TDH becomes a novelty frag
