Thanks for this news. Etat Libre is an interesting, sometimes controversial company. We will wait for further news.

Sounds great from the list of notes! A retro-vetiver would be a nice change -- and being ELDO, it should also be a bit on the leathery side.

It seems like they are taking it easy, and probably they decided to re-concept the new scent, maybe for marketing, maybe the formulation.
It supposed to be already on the sale on Xmas 08 last year.
Probably a clever decision, to wait, after the success of "Tom of Finland".
By the main notes list provided, it seems like it's going to be a dry- oriental perfume. But the add of the (bloody) vanilla makes me doubt.
Normally all ELDO tends to the feminine side, even when the product is remarked "for men" (excepts Tom of Finland on dry down and certainly fases of Rien).
We'll see what they will bring time. I am actually very curious...

I remember reading about this on their blog last year...I wonder what the delay was? Mimifroufrou.com says it will be available March 09 now.

I'm confused by the name: is there a 'fat electrician' in the Midnight Cowboy film?

I love the name Fat Electrician. I'm visualizing a greasy tee-shirt, a glimpse of ass crack, a Chevy pick-up and a Marlboro with an inch long ash hanging from his lip. Very glamn no?

I think of this scent as "The Plumber", not "Fat Electrician".

    Very curious.

Looks very intriguing by name and vetiver side!

While I remember that vetiver-vanilla-benzoin goes rather sour powdery on me (Habanita, Sublime JPatou, Ambre Vetiver Bois 1920), and gives more feminine feelings... Crinolines, grand-grand-mother`s powders&perfumes from her old-fashioned vanity table, some scent of wardrobe that was out of mothballs for 10 years... Chalky scents...

But I still believe that it could be a good frag.

By the way - who was the perfumer in charge of it and what is the name on French? Or it has only English name?

The nose is Antoine Maisondieu, and the name is only in English.

Vetiver and powdery-fatty resins with a hint of vanilla to round it sounds intriguing. Dunno about the movie connection but Ruggles pictured the scent mood perfectly... très chic!
