Question Advice Please 4 new fragrance...

    Advice Please 4 new fragrance...
Favorite frags are Molinard by Molinard, First (VCA) and Gio (Armani). Have researched notes, olfactive family and description, but am lost at the fragrance counter by the 3rd sample. b-t-w, husband remembers people and occasions by scent and says i smell "buttery" if that's a factor.
Your expertise would be much appreciated (been reading the forum)...Thank you all.

Why not order a bunch of samples and try 'em out 1 day at a time? try fishbonefragrances or the perfumedcourt. Both are online and you can buy as many samples as peak your interest for not a lot of money.

Also try some classics. Tresor comes to mind for some reason, also check out Kenzo...Amour is very nice.

    Welcome, pockets!

According to Michael Edwards' fragrance suggestions, you may want to look at the following:

For those who like First: Madame Rochas by Rochas, Rykiel Woman by Sonia Rykiel, and Arpège by Lanvin.

For those who like Giò: Freezia d'Or by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier; Jardins de Bagatelle by Guerlain; Jasmin Impératrice Eugénie by Creed.

For those who like Molinard: Éclat d'Arpège by Lanvin

I don't know how on-target these recommendations are, but I wanted to give you a little something to work with!

The 2 you mention, 1st & Molinard, are good aldehydes. This Lubin is a good re-issue I really like. Another really nice re-issued one is Givenchy III. You say you smell 'buttery' but , is that something good, or something you'd like to change?

The LuckyScent site (here) has samples, too. And pretty good descriptions.

I agree, 'buttery' is generally a good thing. I was just wondering how you felt about it. Depending on where you are, you may have access to Chanel & Guerlain in dept stores. Many of the best scents they sell, though, are only sold in boutiques in New York, Paris or online sources. You can look at our wardrobes by pushing the bottle symbol by our names. That tells you what we like. Then you can find out more by reading reviews in the directory or searching for previous posts on that fragrance. We all like to talk about our favorites so don't be shy!
