Default Estee Lauder Amber Ylang Ylang vs Sensuous?

I'm intrigued about Estee Lauder's Private Collection scents, esp Amber Ylang Ylang, but don't have a store nearby that carries the Private Collection perfume. For those who tried both Amber Ylang Ylang and Sensuous, are they in the same vein? I tried Sensuous and was not too taken by it -- too much cloves to my nose.

Please comment if you tried both.

I think Amber Ylang Ylang is more refined and not as sweet
it definitly does not have as much cinnomon as Sensuous
All in all they're not really alike at all, so I would suggest looking for a
    sample on ebay
I am not afraid... I was born to do this.

Cool, thanks for the reply. By the way, I did not mean to put Sensuous down -- it's an attractive scent, just not my style.

I'll try to look for Amber Ylang Ylang sample.

Yes, I certainly recommend trying the Amber Ylang Ylang. It really is lovely - very luxe and smooth, whereas I find Sensuous... I don't know... a bit artificial somehow.

Somehow Costes, which I recently tried, reminded me of Sensuous -- again, a lot of cloves and cool spices... Did anybody notice the same?

If you like the smell of cookie dough & ylang, you'll love Amber Ylang Ylang. (I tried it and wasn't convinced with it as an AMBER scent per se; but I may yet end up getting a bottle as more of a sweet and comforting foodie-scent. It's not sickly and it's very "nice", not extraordinary, but very accessible and sophisticated).

I like AYY a lot. My husband finds it sexy and I frequently get compliments on it when I wear it. On me it is definitely sweet and warm, perhaps a bit on the gourmand side. When I wear it I get a huge hit of amber and sandalwood with an underpinning of rose and a little vanilla. Luca Turin describes it as vanilla syrup, which is not what happens on my skin at all but it does make me think that there is a real skin chemistry thing going on. I would try to get my hands on a sample if I were you. You might find one on the Perfumed Court.
I think I have tried Sensuous, but to be honest I don't remember how it smells. Another one to look at would be Samsara. I used to own it. They hold a similar function in the wardrobe as a sexy, warm scent that works especially well in the winter. Think a nice long camel colored cashmere robe.
