    Default Costume National 21

I keep meaning to make a quick mention of Costume National 21.... bought it 3 weeks ago - AWESOME!! what a unique and great scent! seems to dry down into creamy pipe tabacco scent (at least on me). Highly recommended. One of my best purchases this year.... Others like it as much as me??

I have Scent Intense and enjoy it very much, in fact it is definitely in my top 10. I find 21 to be a "creamier", smoother version of it! Welcome to the Costume National appreciation society

I just tried it yesterday, without ever heard of it before. The scent is actually really good, but for me (18 years old) it's a bit to early, but I might buy that one later. It's definently a lovely fragrance, where the woods really are sensable..

Seconded! A vastly underrated scent IMO - and one perfect for the cooler months!

A milkier and more anisic reinterpretation of Scent Intense IMO. It's very synthetic, but I enjoy it. I'd love to get a decant of it.

More complex and even better than Scent Intense. It's creamy, milky, silky sweet, and quite unisex.

Costume National 21 is my SotD today. Here's my review:

This is a very woody, yet at the same time lactonic, creamy scent. There is a good deal of spice in this, and some perfumer-arty things like bergamot, moss, and clary sage (very sophisticated and traditional notes). Kashmir wood in the top is backed up by vetiver, cedar and patchouli in the base. The labdanum in the heart gives aid to the creaminess, yet veering off a little toward ambergris, its closest scent equivalent. Tonka and vanilla add an oriental dimension and a roundness to the woody and spicy notes. To me , this is one of the best of the Costume National line; milder, but at the same time more complex, better balanced and more skillfully constructed than the other offerings from that house. This is also an EdP strength. A very welcome addition from Costume National, and a clear demonstration of how good their stuff can be! Kudos to Juliette Karagueuzoglou, the nose responsible for this.

I smelled this yesterday while out Christmas shopping and I got Chanel's Egoiste out of it. Since I already own Egoiste and CNH is nothing breaking any new territory - I decided to pass.

I came accross this fragrance while exploring some CdG frags, and now I am very intrigued.

It looks like the praise is pretty much universal. Does anyone have any more recent input on this frag now that over 2 years have passed?

Still a very well constructed fragrance. It's got good longevity, projection and sillage. If you like creamy scents and nutmeg, I recommend that you try this. More of an Autumn/Winter scent for sure, but a solid offering from Costume National (as are all of the fragrance by them that I own)

It's so cheap online too... $60 for a 100 ml bottle... AHHHH!!!

The problem is, I don't think I have ever been able to sample a "milky" fragrance. I hate powder but I like nutmeg and amber. Am I going to like this??

The $30 price is for the Costume National 21 deodorant spray. The bottle is clear instead of opaque white. I almost jumped on this until I realized what it was.

Got my bottle a few weeks back and forgot to post my impressions....

    I'll sum it up quickly:

This stuff kicks ass! Fantastic longevity, super unique scent, really resinous ambre but with a distinctly mellow vibe. Highly recommended!!!!

seems very interesting - only one word in the description of 21 scares me into oblivion - "Orange Blossom" it just turns my stomach and usually its paired with amber, and if this is so - then i am shit scared of this stuff! - can anyone tell me if the orange blossom+amber combo here is prominent?

I have never associated this fragrance with orange blossom. Again, it's a very resinous amber IMO. If some people construe that as having an orange vibe then maybe it could be construed to be smelling like that? I'm really not sure :S
