    Thumbs up My favorite notes:

I went through my wardrobe, and made a list of the most commonly-appearing notes in my favorite fragrances. They are:

    Lemon
    Geranium
    Bergamot
    Lavender
    Juniper Berry
    Mandarin
    Lime
    Rose
    Violet/Violet Leaves
    Mint
    Neroli/Bitter Orange Peel/Orange Flower
    ---
    Oakmoss
    Cedar
    Tobacco
    Vetiver
    Cypress
    Vanilla
    Jasmine
    Tea
    Coffee
    ---
    Sandalwood
    Leather
    Ambergris

I tried to group them into top, middle, and base notes. I put most of the woods into the middle, and all of the floral and citrus in the top. But feel free to make suggestions as to where they might fit better.

Can you think of any fragrances that contain several of the notes listed above?

Can you come up with any concoctions of the notes listed above that you think would make for an awesome fragrance that doesn't yet exist?

    Fun!
    Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah

Live Jazz by YSL is one of my all-time favourites. The mint on the top travels extremely well down to the Ambergris-like bottom. I think if you're a fan of Creed, then it's worth checking out.

bergamot, iris, mock orange, cedar, aoud, vetiver, patchouli but I think the composition and development are far more important than the notes. In a way, in a good fragrance the total scores higher than tha sum of the componants.
