Default What are the differences between a tester and a real perfume?

I dont know, in some stores in my city they are selling testers (the ones you spray on in perfume stores to test a scent) and claim that these testers have the same quality with the real perfumes, they are cheaper than real perfumes only because they don't have a package/box. I just want to ask whether there are differences between them, like whether testers have more alcohol than real perfumes do or not. Thanks

If I am right, a tester is the same as the one you buy, but without a box, and maybe without a cap. The difference is that the bottle is used in a perfumestore to test, but they do fill it up like a real one.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Quite a bit in price....that's the biggest difference.

I can live without the fancy cap and box to get something that's the same juice for less.

Testers are good to go if you not looking ahead to resell with original box and cap in case you don't like the juice.

There's really no difference that I have found in testers except the price is cheaper for the same product. Great way to start out buying bottles if you ask me.

4 of my big bottles are testers... they smell just like the original. The Dior Homme tester even comes with a real cap - no box though.

I think, tester, of course, are cheaper than the original. I bought some perfumes in Paris, and the shop gave me a Rive Gauch 125ml as a gift. To me, the tester is really "something" better than the original. I already have a Rive Gauch at home, of which the longervity is really so-so, not like the tester.

    As far as I know
only price is the real difference
plus it might look uglier w/out its cap

This thread has taught me to save my old caps & boxes from empty non-tester bottles. Then I can now buy testers of the same thing when I see them from now on and I will have a perfect cap/box for them.
