Thread: Fresh Woody Oriental |
I was wondering what fragrances other than Versace Pour Homme could be considered Fresh Woody Orientals. I think Allure Homme Sport can be in that category and the test strips for Issey Miyake call it a Spicy Wood. There is a thin line between Aquatic and Fresh Woody Oriental so I was wondering what frances fit the Fresh Woody Oriental category?

Guerlain Heritage, definitely woody and oriental, with the sharp cedar and lavender notes translating as "fresh" to my nose.
I think Salvatore Ferragamo Pour Homme. It's definitely fresh and woody, and I would say the spices in it give it a very oriental feel.

“I wanna say something. I’m gonna put it out there. If you like it, you can take it, if you don’t, send it right back…."
I think Givenchy Blue Label fits this description.
Grapefruit and bergemot opening. Cedar, olibanum, vetiver, pepper dry down.
Although Heritage is one of my top 10 fragrances, I can't agree with it being "fresh".
I think lots of fragrances might fit this description. The description surrounds a huge group of fragrances. Any woody oriental that has fresh notes as well as any fougere fragrance would fit the description.
But for fragrances that are a bit like Versace pour Homme you might give these a try:
Sel d' Vetiver by the Different Company very fresh grapefruit + jasmine opeing with vetiver mid notes and a dry wood finish. Fresh dry green woods.
Cereus Pour Homme No. 11 is also a really nice fresh/woody/oriental fragrance with grapefruit, anise and cedar.
Navegar by L'Artisan Parfumer is very fresh ginger/lime opening with red and black pepper opening to a gaiac and cedar woods drydown. Very fresh and woody.
Bleecker Street maybe...really a woody gourmand/oriental, but fresh to the end.
Heritage is not fresh IMO
Rochas Lui with the Patchouli Vanilla drydown could be considered?
Pi Neo
Hey you said fresh right?

Brit is wayy too powdery and Allure Homme (not Allure Home Sport, which fits this description perfectly) is way too spicy and heavy to have anything to do with fresh.

Sorry man, but I don't understand how spices can ellicit fresh. Maybe effervescent, but when I think fresh, I think of dewy air or juicy sweet citrus. Care to explain this?
