Default What is your all-purpose fragrance?

Do you have an all-purpose fragrance? By that, I mean something you often choose for day-to-day wear because you know it just plain works in any situation.

I gather that most people on here wear a variety of fragrances. I have been doing that too and have been getting a lot of fun and pleasure out of it. But sometimes I wonder whether people have a particular favorite for general use. I知 not sure signature scent is the appropriate term for this because I知 not thinking about something that specifically identifies you洋ore like a reliable friend you always know you can turn to no matter what.

I知 not sure I have one yet. Do you?

    Thanks.

Mine would be Dior Homme I think. I wear it most weekdays, and although I have lots of other great smelling scents, some days I feel almost like I'm cheating if I don't wear DH! For me, it seems to work well in all weather (spray less in summer though), and in all situations - scruffy clothes, or dinner suit.

For me, this is probably a signature scent too because I wear it so often. Some days I wish we worked less and had longer weekends so I can change what I wear a bit more often!

Pretty much my whole wardrobe is versatile now. I got rid of all my heavy vanilla/oriental scents and have been attracted to lighter, cleaner scents as of late.

Giorgio for Men - was my everyday scent for many years.

Azzaro pour Homme - if not for Basenotes and the resurrection of Giorgio for Men, could easily have become my everyday fragrance.

Thanks for your replies. I always like to see what different people have to say on here, and this is certainly a variety. I own a few of the fragrances named. I find it interesting that Dior Homme was mentioned a couple of times. I own it and I love it, but I see it as more of an indulgence fragrance than an all-purpose one. It seems special to me, so I deliberately don稚 wear it much because I don稚 want to wear it out, if that makes any sense. That does give me an idea for another thread, though, but I think I will spare you!

    Thanks again.

It WAS Fahrenheit, before I got this reformulated bottle...

The reformulation is not such a masterpiece, but I weared it 2 or 3 times and I have to say it's still better than most of the newish crap, if you're in the mood and can accept the changings.

    But not my all-around anymore.

Ok, I don't have an all-purpose frag at this moment, I just posted to complain a bit more about Fahrenheit.

    L'Homme (YSL)
    Terre d' Hermes

This group could grow to include: M7 Fresh based on first impressions

For it truly to be an all-purpose scent it has to fare well in the heat and the cold, formal and non-formal situations. For me, there are two in my wardrobe that always work:

    Caron - L'Anarchiste
    Versace - Versace PH

I almost mentioned Prada Amber but it is not so enjoyable in extreme heat, and I find I rarely wear it at all in the warmer months. Another that may fit the bill, although I haven't tested it enough, is Ineke's Derring-Do.

Hey buzzley - it does make sense, but that's probably why I do wear it often, because it is special and I feel great in it. I love it when wearing jeans and a tee, as much as in work clothes, and still smell that great

Another vote for Rive Gauche pour Homme: It's the only frag in my collection to-date that I can wear in any weather, for any event or situation. MPG's Racine would be a close second, though one has to get through its fairly rough beginning before it turns truly divine.

Creed GIT. Summer, Winter, formal, casual

Creed MI - tend to go more spring to early fall with this

I like Jock with Scents choice of Red Vetyver. However, JWS, I find that I get more projection when it heats up - probably an over 60 degree frag for me.

My fav is not the same as my all purpose - Lutens Fumerie Turque just makes me fell all special, but I would not waste this for a casual day.
