Thread: Lancome Hypnose - Hit or Miss?
I really like it but have mixed feelings for using it...hit or miss? Better for casual day or formal night?
equally good anytime
If you really like it, why the mixed feelings?
IMO, a solid, mass-market product.
miss. Intuition already exists.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?
Not a bad fragrance. I find it easy to wear just about anytime but I find myself using it more in the evenings nowadays.

A definite hit! I'm so glad I let the sales associate help me find something different. I was at Macys one evening and tried a bunch of fragrances on display, and very few stood out. As I was close to leaving, the s/a asked if I needed any help. I told her I was just looking for something that didn't smell like everything else...something nice. She suggested maybe two other fragrances, and then the Hypnose. I tried it and thought it was really nice and unlike any of the other fragrances I had sampled. I sprayed it on a card, and throughout the night, I continued to sniff the card, and really-I loved each and every sniff. I went back weeks later to see if I would feel the same. I did. I bought it online about a week later. Now that I've worked my way up to 20 fragrances, I don't wear it that often, only because I try to wear the least worn fragrances to re-familiarize myself with them. But the Hypnose is always one I can count on to make me feel like a fragrant guy.
A total hit!
Yes, it's a mass marketed fragrance
but an awesome one at that!

Definitely one of the better designer releases last year - too bad it seems to have already been discontinued.
I had mixed feelings with two scents:
1. Guerlain's Vetiver.
2. Givenchy's Insensé.
It took me months to make up my mind.
In the first case, I bought it and now I consider it as one of my favs. With Insensé was a diferent story: got an almost empty bottle of it so I tried it with the chances of buying one bottle in case I enjoyed it in mind. But I did not, so I discarded purchasing it.
So, the only way to deal with mixed feelings is to keep on trying. And if one spritz won't do, buy a decant.
I'm not a big fan, though the bottle is stunning.
Personally I won't spend my money on something unless i'm totally enamored with it. Granted I don't have a lot of disposable income lately (supporting the two of as she goes back to school) but even if I did I wouldn't want to add something i'm not crazy about to my collection.
Using Clive Owen in their Advertising strategy was a definite Hit. They gave this fragrance a very "masculine" image. The fragrance isn't bad, not for me though. I wouldn't call it a miss, but not a solid "hit" IMHO.
Miss! Very bland, couldn't wait to wash it off.
