One last piece of the Fragrant Four to determine as we head across Paris to the Shiseido Sports Center and the Serge Lutens Regional Final between the fifth seeded Guerlain Vetiver and seventh seeded Czech & Speake #88. This beautiful new facility is one of the most modern arenas in the league full of the latest and greatest bells and whistles. Designed to look like a big bell jar the sun streaming in the glass top is making tiny prismatic rainbows all over the facility. It will host a battle of the old and the new as the classic Vetiver has been a champion many times over and has been here and done that. #88 is on the verge of their first Fragrant Four. As a new scent it can be a huge validation to make the Fragrant Four if you can do it by going over a champion like Vetiver that makes it even more significant. Both scents had easy times of it in the first two rounds racking up double digit margins of victory. In the Scented Sixteen Vetiver crushed Thierry Mugler A*Men. #88 needed a shot at the buzzer to put away Creed Bois du Portugal in their Scented Sixteen match.
The cool green fans of Vetiver look quietly confident on their side of the court. They’re staring into a sea of fans of #88 holding up eight fingers, four on each hand, and chanting “eighty eight”.
The solid black cylinder of #88 is staring down the pale green bottle of Vetiver as they await the opening spray off.
#88 shot straight out of the atomizer from the get go and took an early lead. As the first quarter wore on they increased the lead slightly until they closed out the quarter with a four point lead, 20-16. The second quarter started out pretty even with Vetiver unable to cut into #88’s advantage and by the end of the quarter an energized #88 had added three more to lead by seven, 38-31. Vetiver didn’t look to be the kind of opponent that would lied down and watch their nozzle dry up. Sure enough they played a little better in the third quarter and they headed into the final period down four 50-46. Vetiver kept up the slow and steady pressure and with just a little time left had closed to within one, 57-56. This set up a fast and furious finish as both bottles raced up and down the court Vetiver would tie it only to see #88 go back down and take a one-point lead. Luckily for Vetiver they were the scent with possession as the clock ticked down and as they let spray with the scoreboard ticking over to 00:00 the shot went in….overtime!!
After these messages we’ll be back at the Shiseido Sports Center for 24 hours of overtime.
Keep voting and watching as only you have the ability to determine the winner.
I'll see you back here on The Road to The Final Spritz

haha glorious!!! I can only hope that GV team member Coriander drops the ball (as he always does when I wear him), giving 88 the chance for victory
