Default Have you started wearing your summer stuff yet?

It's getting warmer every day here in Michigan, and spring has pretty much sprung. It's been in the 40's and 50's just about every day for a while now (aside from that freak snowstorm the other night!). Otherwise, mostly sunny, partly cloudy, occasional drizzle.

However, I'm still trying to make a gradual transition into wearing my lemons and bright greens.

    Greens:
Green Irish Tweed is the scent of the moment, as it is so reminiscent of a garden, just being planted. It's got that earthy quality that reminds me of spring so much. And I can do Green Valley once in a while, especially if I'm going to go to the gym. But not on a cloudy day. I'd still like it to warm up a bit for this one. Original Vetiver needs another few months. It begs to be worn in the middle of a hot summer. Grass clippings... mmm....

    Citrus:
Blenheim works year round. But I still want it to be warmer. Screw it, nevermind. GFT will be ripe in a few weeks. The cypress invites it to be worn in early spring. Terre d' Hermes is working quite well right now. So is Douro. Hugh Parson's Picadilly (yellow) is great on a hot summer day too. But for all these citruses... I think it would be a bit premature just yet.

    Floral:
I'm still waiting on Castile. Not just yet... Let some flowers bloom first.

    Marine:
Fougeres Marine can work just fine year round, but it will be particularly spectacular in the 60-70 degree range.

Which ones do you want to reach for... but have to say, "Not JUST yet..." ? (and what is the weather like where you are?)
    Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah

I wore Parfumerie Generale Harmatan Noir yesterday. I find it more or less perfect for summer wear with its lovely citrussy minty Tea opening to its beautifully aromatic woodsy drydown

Too cold for L'Anarchiste. I need at least over 20C, ideally over 25C - too rare around here, unfortunately - to really enjoy this.

being in southern california, I pretty much never really get to put my summer stuff away. The downside is that some of the richer winter frags dont get as much consistent wear. Spring here is thus, a peculiar time, as the days are very warm (80 plus) so summer frags work well, and the nights drop to 50 or 60, which is fine for heavier frags.

I wear 4711 year round but more lately. Same with most other frags I consider summer friendly. However, I have been waiting to wear HM. Another month and I'll be ready for it.

I won't reach for Terre d'Hermes till it breaks 90 degrees.

Normally I leave Erolfa on the shelf between October and May, but somehow I have reached for it some this winter.

I'm starting to gravitate towards more aquatic stuff like Ice*Men, Acqua Di Gio, Bvlgari Aqua, Cool Water Frozen, Fragonard Concerto. At night, my heavier fragrances will see more use such as RSVP. On a "Spring" feeling day, I'll likely use Emporio Armani White or Banana Republic Slate.

I'm in SE Louisiana. Anything heavier than Eau d'Orange Verte is unnecessary 9 months out of the year.

Dunhill 1934, RL Safari, Egoiste, Richard James, Habit Rouge and all my other "winter" favorites were shut down by mid March. I've already shifted to Terre d'H, Guerlain Vetiver, Pen's English Fern, Mugler Cologne, GIT, etc.

I'm not going to lie. For the most part I don't follow the season rules. The season may eventually dictate what I "feel" like wearing, but I wear what I want when I want most of the time. That being said, I am looking forward to trying out some of the fresher frags I got in the fall and winter when it heats up.

I've started in with Bowling Green, Monsieur de Givenchy, and every vetiver I own. Live Jazz and TdH to wait about 2 more weeks. Really, in the Dallas area, I'm as likely to get a chance to wear warm-weather scents in early March as any other time of year. I'm considering picking up one more really hot weather scent for that 30-day stretch of 100-degree days we always seem to get.

Yes, lately the temperature has been in the high 60's and lows in the high 50's, so I've worn my Mugler Cologne and Timbuktu (but I think this one is suitable for any climate really, it just projects better in heat). The Bradford pears have bloomed, and the cherry trees are blossoming, so Premier Figuier is about to get a wear also. At night, I've found Black Aoud is a great middleweight scent, but I am going for the last stretch on my orientals since it will soon be hot.

the weather's going back and forth here in Houston, but on the days when it's warmer, I do!

Last night I was wearing Millesime Imperial, but it was a bit chilly so it didn't "bloom" like I wanted it to

I'm in Florida, and temperatures are already cracking 80. The summer stuff has been out for the last month. It kind of disappoints me that I really can't build up a wardrobe of fall/winter scents just because there's only like two or three months I can wear them ... I just hoard samples and sniff them.

Same here at my place. My options are towards warmer, drier, incense-y, or herbal scent Amouage Jubilation XXV, Tauer Incense Extreme & LdAMM, Caron Yatagan or Creed Himalaya, etc....

edit: forgot I have also worn Mugler Cologne this spring!

It is SUMMER weather here in Miami already. The rich orientals get very little use in these types of conditions (unless I wear them indoors and don't leave the house) and I start to crave wearing the lighter, breezier, less complicated stuff.

Two particular fragrances that I only wear in Summer (which is the only two fragrances that I own, that fall into this restriction) is Azuree Soleil by Estee Lauder (Tom Ford) and Virgin Island Water by Creed.

Its waaay to early for summer in Denmark yet. temps hovering around the 4 - 9 degree mark.
If the truth be known, I never stopped wearing my summer scents. I wear them often during winter to bring a ray of sunshine to the gloom that is the Scandinavian wintertime.

On a brighter note - in a couple of months when spring rolls around I will be on the hunt for a new seasonal cologne

No I haven't. I am in Ohio and we have had some warm days. On those, I wear Eau Sauvage Fraicheur Cuir and Rive Gauche. I wear these in winter but they can be used for transition weather.

Although I live in SoCal, I am close enough to the ocean that the temperature does not get too hot nor too cold. In fact, when I moved here I figured I would not need many sweaters. Turns out I have been wearing wool jackets since I arrived last June. I can probably wear all frags year 'round here, but even with a slight chill of around 65, orientals and heavier fragrances seem to work better than very light colognes and citruses. Ten more degrees F, and the citruses are great!

My summer line up is out in full force although on an odd day the temperature drops to 60F:

    Guerlain Cologne du 68
    Creed Citrus Bigarade
    Creed VIW
    Creed Selection Verte
    Creed Imperial
    Azzaro Pure Cedrat
    Cartier Roadster
    Cartier Declaration Bleu
    Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte
    Hermes 'Nil
    Armani Eau pour homme
    Chanel PM

I will bring out batch 2 in a month or two with a new rotation.

I wear citrus-lighter frags all year around. I can't possibly go a full season without L'Eau d;Hiver, AdP, Chanel PM, L'Eau Neuve etc. Having said that I reserve some of my heavier gear for cool days or evening wear.

Aquatics I avoid regardless of the season.

Yeah, what was up with that? That was quite the April Fools.

And today when I was golfing, it was so cold I got sniffles. It's definitely not time for anything summer-ish here yet.

Wearing winter frags when it *should* be warm is supporting the cold.

I've been wearing some summery stuff for the last week or two. It's not quite warm enough for it to really bloom but I'm just getting antsy. Been sampling a lot too, trying to find the right aquatics and citrus scents for me. Why oh why do I actually really enjoy Arcus so much, which is way out of my price range? (ok, I know why.. I love that salty geranium/ambergris combo!)

I feel spring here in Siberia when the heavy snow begin to melt.
Now it`s quite good sunny weather (while there`s a lot of snow in forest), so I reach for
different Narcussus (Fresh, cb i hate perfumes, Artisan)
    Seve Exquise (Gobin Daude)
    Chamade pour homme (Guerlain)
different Irises (Artisan, Miller Harris, MPG)
Vetivers are in full blooms all year round.

while all my citruses are still closed in the wardrobe. No need.
    Vetiver The Great!!!

Well it dropped below freezing today and is sleeting/snowing. Decided to spring for D&G Pour Homme. That scent doesn't seem like a "warm" scent to me. Anyone agree/disagree?

    My kinda guys

Considering summer as most know it is with us here in West Africa almost all-year round, i would feel rather cheated if, by some rule, i couldnt enjoy what some call winter/spring/etc scents.

I have a sample of cartier roadster. I couldn't quite figure it out. What do you think of it? Also, you wear touch for summer? I felt it was more of an autumn/winter fragrance.
