I'm trying to get my head around this one... whether it's FBW or not. Now that I've gone from arm-testing to a full wear, I think it may be. It's firmly in the modern gourmand/floral Guerlain style, starting with a HUGE candied cherry/rose blast that melds into a lemon heart and Guerlinade base. I'll be first to admit the name is not appealing, but it's easy to overlook with topnotes like these!

L' Eau de Jatamansi by L' Artisan Parfumeur (first time from a sample - thanks Redneck Perfumisto)
On skin, this smells WAY better than on a tester strip like the 1st time I smelled it - I smell something strongly aromatic (thyme?) and it is giving me the effect of aloe vera soda, if there was such a thing. Refreshing!!
a little Red Vetyver action today

Very smokey, actually smells like tar, with very light vanilla in the background.
It reminded me of Bulgari Black, but smokier and not as sweet.
In the afternoon I changed to Kapsule Woody. Still liking this one.
SOTD/E: Versace's the Dreamer, the second of the house's masterpieces. The other being L' Homme, the first men's fragrance from this house.

SOTD: My first test of Tauer L'air du Désert Marocain.
This one opened with a hit of unnamed booziness over a lot of sandalwood and vanilla.
The booze quickly meshed with the woodsy/cinnamon top of the sandalwood to make a sort of wet paper bag smell.
This burned off pretty quickly, leaving sandalwood and vanilla.
And that's about what it's done. It was heavier on the sandalwood in the beginning, going into more vanilla at the end, but that's about it.
(I thought I got some amber, too, but just fleetingly).
Nice, but this kind of reminds me of the Creed base without anything over it (but I need to wear Vanisia again to make sure, so please don't start throwing rocks yet...)
