    Default Malaysian Basenoters

Hi I'm just looking to see how many basenoters from Malaysia are there. Maybe we can even buy/sell/swap some of our frags. Prices of frags in Malaysia are very high.

    Thanks

Those are the high end companies really, you have to visit Mustafa then, they import by such bulk that the prices are easily 30-40% cheaper than most retailers. Blue jeans are like 15 sgd? 200ml ck one and be are like 40plus sgd only, all @ mustapha, anyone who comes here have to visit them. I got a larger sized habit rouge and kouros for just below 120sgd, even with the exchange rate, you cant beat that huh, funny thing is that even Luxasia supplies some of their products to them, they work with very high volumes and low profit margins I reckon.

Wow sounds good..now i really want to go to mustapha...lol...i wish msia had shops like that.over here when perfume is cheaper most the time we assume its fake..and most of the time its true...haha...

But with such low prices over at mustapha i wonder if there is anything wrong with the product ? old stock? rejects? or even worse maybe fake?

Stock is not old esp when the turnover is express, it's 24hours mall, even at wee hours, heaps of people are at the fragrance section. PLUS I think Luxasia is very selective and strict with who they supply to and stock checking is very important to them, their reputation is at stake so I doubt they will allow any rejected or old stock to be shelved at Mustafa.

Mustafa is a 24hr shopping mart here. They carry a wide range (designer) of perfumes at quite reasonable prices.

dee_loc2free and azri_azmi welcome to basenotes fellow malaysians.

Unfortunately msia is not a fragrance heaven. High prices and lack of variety is our main problem.but more and more houses are coming to our shores. unfortunately prices are still very high.

So i was thinking maybe we could actually swap/sell amongst ourselves the perfumes we have. I do have a few i'm willing to trade/sell. Pls PM me and i'll send over a list. Thanks

The only concern i have is that it's so crowded and many would just open new bottles that don't come with the cello wrap and start sniffing (and spraying!), then put it back, I've seen it quite a lot of times. There isn't exactly a sales rep to serve. It is much like a super market concept.

    HIya
From SG here, would love a swap..
I am an active swapper on MUA (makeupalley)
But I mostly swap for niche fragrances as they are hard to get

    Also, discontinued ones.

Some notes I prefer and have lots of.. Msg me or check my perfume list to see what I have..

    Notes:
    Rose
    Gourmands - Vanille / pepper / Spices / Almond / Ginger
    Leather notes

    Dislike: Woody

    Fave brands for swap
    PG / Montale / L'artisan / Serge Lutens / Mazzolari..

hello peepurs, i decided to revive this old thread.

and yes, like what jon said it is incredibly expensive, although sometimes we get discounts from time to time.

Socially not much people here use frags and those that do often go for the brand "if its an armani or a ck or a hugo boss its niceeee" so i am looking for more designer and the classic frags (annick goutal, guerlain, etc) to stand out. But would be nice if someone from SG could help us buyyyy

You should consider contacting xmen. He is quite the treasure hunter, especially when it comes to classics and hard-to-finds!

Hello to BN-ers from across the Causeway!

Thanks Matt for that reminder. Its been ages since I last went to Mustafa Centre; I remember I bought my L'eau D'Issey from there. The price was lower than anywhere else in SG; I really thought I got a fake. But it was the real deal. And a real steal.

A M'sia-SG BNmeet up sounds like fun! I'm still new to niche btw..

Nice.. this thread lives again. But its still just the few of us. Niche is very pricey, since i have only sampled the tip of the iceberg, i think i will stay with designer for now.

Anyway i don't think you have to dip into Niche to smell different. As far as i can tell from my forays to designer fragrance counters, most fragrances earlier then the 80s and non aquatic would set you apart from the crowd.

BTW anybody seen Davidoff Zino in Malaysia?

    Oh.. and hi to everybody!

I have not seen Zino anywhere before here. It's either they never brought it in or they just took it off the shelves to make way for the newer frags

After many months of designer frags, I think it's time for me to go into uncharted niche territory. But the variety of niche frags here is just a shallow pool unfortunately.
