Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta.
I know there have been threads on earthy, non-sweet lemon scents before but have recently found a new hankering for this ..Any recommendations for a real earthy, dirty, type of lemon scents (less sweet, no lemon pledge) thanks.

Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta.
I would recommend Cedrat by Patricia de Nicolai. Of course, the cedrat is a citron, not a lemon strictly speaking. But I think this PdN scent might well be what you're looking for, in that it has a woody, warm base of sandalwood and patchouli. It comes in eau de cologne strength - great for spritzing with abandon, and also a more intense eau de toilette concentration, which is nice for layering over the edc at your pulse points.

i never get "Lemon Pledge" from Signoricci or Monsieur Balmain.
Armani Eau Pour Homme
Monsieur Balmain - a woody lemon
Blenheim Bouquet by Penhaligon starts of with a non sweet lemon blast then dries down to a wonderful pine fragrance
Also, these two aren't lemon, but they are non-sweet citrus scents:
Citrus Paradisi by Czech & Speake
Bergamote 22 by Le Labo
None of my recommendations are "earthy" IMO though. Sorry.
Etro Lemon Sorbet

Lemon Sorbet is so earthy, it was a little too much for me (no, it doesn't smell like sorbet). It smells like grilled, charred lemon slices on a hot grill sprinkled with black pepper piquancy. Sample this one, it's not a safe blind buy.

This is discontinued but you can still find bottles of Crown Esterhazy. It's a dry, sharp, bitter lemon with no contradicting sweetness. If you PM me, I can arrange a sample vial for you.
Don a wig of larks and fly!
+1 for Etro Lemon Sorbet here as well. It's dry airy earthy herbal lemon, not sweet or "pledge-like" at all.
Also a couple of Cerutti's - original 1881 (soapy herbal citrus) and Image Fresh Energy (bitter)

Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien comes to mind. Nice lemon tops, with a woody, earthy dry down.
If it only lasted longer!
Blenheim Bouquet if you like coniferous notes; Lux if you like powder; Boucheron if you like lots of powder.

Peggy: "Right now, we have to get to the mental institution. Something terrible has happened."
Peggy: "Brother Boy has tried to kill himself. He jumped out of his bedroom window."
Latrelle: "Isn't he only on the second floor?"
Peggy: "Yes, but he hit his head on a lawn gnome."

Terre is currently in the Basenotes Doghouse I think. When something is successful and lots of people like it, human nature needs to bring it down....when Terre has been crapped on enough to satisfy the miserables, then eventually it will be built up once again.

Eau Sauvage. Bright lemon edging into spiky herbs and peaty earth.
How come nobody has suggested Eau De Hermes yet?
Dirty, lemony like a post-coital citrus glow.
In a world where people smell bad, it is the personal responsibility of every Basenoter to improve the world one SotD at a time...
Armani APH, Eau Sauvage, Blenheim Bouquet, Acqua di Parma Colonia, YSL pour Homme, but above all YSL pour Homme Concentree
MpG's Fraicheur Muskissime is citrus over fine musk. Very understated and quite clean. The musk base be-fangs the unsweetened lemon note's bite.

Calypso Tangerine (TFFKA Homme).
No guru, not method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature
Fraiche Badianne. Anise and lemons, a bit mossy and earthy.
Homme des Gres - not exactly earthy but a rather woody lemon.
Grain De Plaisir - lemons over celery and mint, progressing into an herbal, oakmossy drydown.
Iris Pallida 50ml
Ungaro I 75ml
and more! - http://www.basenotes.net/threads/301...n-Man-and-more
Dior Homme Sport. Lemony citrus and Ginger, with a touch of woods. Not much development, and frankly smells a bit flat and harsh to me, but it seems to get good reviews.
Geo F Trumpers Wellington Cologne, there is quite a bit of citrus in the opening and I find the drydown a touch medicinal and earthy

For good, anatomic reasons, scent fosters memory more readily than any other sense.
