Was way out of my way when I spotted a Burlington Coat Factory and stopped in for no good reason since they never, ever, ever have anything but the most god-awful crap.... Ten minutes and $32 later I walked out with an On El EDT and ASB set for $19.99 but the real steal was a full size Joseph Abboud set in a black velvet lined presentation box minus one cap for $7.99. Both boxes were grimy and had multiple stickers on them from what I presume to be years of mark downs until they finally wound up here, of all places at give away prices.

Not ashamed to admit that I had this one some years ago, tried it a few times and found it to be unwearable. Sharp almost to the point of acridly harsh, my nose just did not get it at all. I came across a vial in the bottom of the sock drawer last spring and set it aside intending to pass it along to some unfortunate swapper. A few months ago either boredom or, more likely, failing memory led me to add it to the pile of things to test. This time around I found it to be quite spicy and warm upon application and reminded me a lot of Basala. It's very dry, the acrid has now become arid ala Yatagan or Sud Est. I don't get the pepper that some do but now pick up the tangy citrus accords that have a zing that is pepper-like to me. It's odd but appealing and causes repeat hand sniffing to see which way it's going to turn next. Drydown is all dry woods and I'll be darned if I can differentiate between sandalwood and cedar and wind up getting more of a redwood-ish accord like the kind found in CDG Sequoia.

For me, at least, this one definitely benefits from a splash on application. Sprayed slowly into a palm and laid on thick, it wears a whole lot better than atomized juice.

I bought Dolce "The One" yesterday off ebay.

I walked around Burlington Coat Factory today and found nothing. They did have a number of decent fragrances at 50% off, including Bvlgari Aqva, a very nice scent. They also had 50% off a number of gift sets including RSVP, KC Signature, Essenza di Zegna and others.

I also went in a cologne shop ran by an Indian fellow. When I walked in he looked at me, smiled and said "Creed". I wasn't wearing it, he just remembered me talking about it before. He said his business is way down. He offered a 4.0 Of Tabarome for $129, but, nah. I wanted to help him out by buying something, but nothing worked out. He's a nice chap, worried about his job.

My absurdly good luck with vintage Givenchy III continues....

I just won a NIB Givenchy III parfum 7.5ml for $26. Coupled with the EdP I got for $10 and EdT for $15 (within the last couple weeks to supplement my existing vintage bottle), I got the entire set of concentrations for $51!

I picked up Armani Prive Eau de Jade today at Marshalls, and another 40ml bottle of Zirh came with my refresh of Clean, Scrub, and Defend. Soon I'll have enough 40ml bottles of Zirh to make a mountain or something.

Not fair!!! Have you tried it before, or was it a blind buy? Would you mind describing it?

Bulgari Aqva pour Homme (Gift for my brother, his birthday is this Sunday!)
Chanel Allure Sport Homme (I think I'm in love, great "young man" scent imo)
Givenchy Blue Label (My old bottleis almost finished; and summer in Mexico calls for this fragrance.
Guerlain Vetiver (Yikes, my girlfriend hates it but I absolutely love it; although I don't think I can pull it off. Still, love to wear it when I'm in the house or doing some gardening)

I was about to blind buy L'Eau de Issey PH; but I thought that would be just too much.

It really is difficult to get testers here in Mexico, most department stores only carry samples for the newest colognes =(

It was a blind buy but I tried it on when I got home after buying it. I like the fragrance quite a bit, I'd describe it as a spicy grass scent. It's been about 8 hours since I put it on and I can't smell it on me anymore, but the girlfriend says that she can still smell it a little bit. I like it, though I'm not sure that I'll ever use the full flacon so I may end up decanting and selling some later on.

L'Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu in the 100 ml. size. My 50 ml. bottle is fast disappearing, and with the uncertainty of Barneys still stocking their line, I decided to play it safe on this one. I may add one or two others later on, if I truly feel I can't live without them...

The other day I picked up a 50ml bottle of David Beckham Instinct Intense for A$20, as well as 100ml tester bottle of CK One summer (orange coloured) for the same price.

Yesterday I bought three 100ml bottle of the women's Burberry Summer at A$30 to be used as presents. I passed on the men's version for the same price.

100ml Rive Gauche PH was selling for A$45 at a local chemist - despite the near universal admiration for this scent here, it seems to have been a bit of a flop.

After working till midnight many nights as our fiscal year ended on 3/31, I treated myself to a shopping spree of frags that would lift my sprits and make me feel fresh, inspired and energized. Came away with :

    Penhaligon's Castile
    L'Artisan Mure et Musc Extreme
    John Varvatos Artisan, and
    Marc Jacobs for Men.

No more buying for a while!

A couple of days ago I won an auction for a 1oz bottle of vintage Mitsouko extrait (~ 1940's, like the L'Heure Bleue I bought a while back) on eBay.
Looking to swap/buy/receive for free () the following samples/decants:
Indult Tihota & Rêve en Cuir
    Chant d'Aromes extrait
    Vetiver pour Elle (5ml decant)

    Selling/swapping:
Versace The Dreamer 50ml (1.7oz) BNIB

yay!!! managed to find my much desired bottle of Chevrefeuille for 86 bucks including shipping, which may or may not be a good deal but I don't care ... my next search is for Nemo, and I'm probably going to drop whatever it takes to get it, my 3 ml sample was enough to win my heart and the contents of my wallet

Thanks JaimeB! Cacharel pour L'Homme doesn't receive much praise on this forum so I'm chuffed that you endorse this exceptional fragrance.
