Question Longevity issue with John Varvatos...

I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on the longevity of John Varvatos and John Varvatos Vintage on this forum. I'm not sure which side to believe. I have normal skin and am Hispanic if that helps. What type of experiences have you guys had with the fragrances? I have a tester of the original John Varvatos but its a rub on and is gone literally in 10 minutes so I don't think thats a direct representation of the fragrance.

I can still smell a trace amount of J.V. in the morning if I do a spray on my hand before jumping into bed. Its probably my favorite scent that I've discovered. On my neck, it easily has above average longevity for me. 5 hours later, and I can still get a nice whiff of it if I puff my shirt. That is to say, however, That is does not have a huge projection off my skin. But I like that.

I love John Varvatos but the abysmal longevity prevents me from purchasing a bottle.

I have somewhat oily skin so luckily I tend to have few longevity issues, but JV just flat out dies in an hour. I get 2 hours out of Eau d'Orange Verte for pete sakes!

Tried (actually bought blind) JV Vintage. The longevity was that of a mayfly with a death-wish - terribly short. I couldn't believe it at first, and thought maybe i was having a anosmic issues. Repeated tries eventually convinced me that the longevity was close to zero.

I love Vintage too and also wish the longevity could be a little longer. But on my skin, it does cast its spell for close to four hours. Not too bad.

I own JV and have tested Vintage. On me, both last 6-8 hours so I don't have a problem w/ longetivity. Projection doesn't seem to be a problem either.

This is what always held me back from Varvatos fragrances. They have good start on my skin about after about an hour they fade and by four hours nothing exists.

Both John Varvatos and Vintage seem to last 6-8 hours on my German-Irish fair and slightly oily skin. I enjoy wearing either but probably John Varvatos more.
