Default Looking for an new chypre

I haven't bought a chypre in such a long time, and I'm in "dire" need for a new one. My favorite chypre of all time is Knowing. I think Turin described it perfectly as a "mossy rose". The chypre I'm looking for has to be extremely mossy and rather warm. Other chypres I love are Moss Breches, The Party, AdP Profumo (old one), Private Collection, Diorling and the lovely Rose de Nuit. Oh btw, no citrus chypres please...and no I don't like Mitsouko !!!
Edit: Looking for a new chypre. Excuse the grammar mishap LoL

Tried Chanel pour Monsieur and No. 19? Especially the vintage formulation of No. 19 is much warmer and much more mossy.
Looking to swap/buy/receive for free () the following samples/decants:
Indult Tihota & RÍve en Cuir
    Chant d'Aromes extrait
    Vetiver pour Elle (5ml decant)

    Selling/swapping:
Versace The Dreamer 50ml (1.7oz) BNIB

To me Pour Monsieur is 90% citrus, 10% oakmoss. It literally has a lifetime of 3 minutes on my skin, and it's a very "meh" scent to me. As for No. 19, I kinda always hated it, don't know, don't really want to know. All I know is, I hate it! LoL

How about Jean Louis Scherrer -- mossy mossy mossy! Very long lasting and powerful for an EdT concentration.

Well, there's Aromatics Elixir, Aramis, L'Eau Trois, Cabaret Femme, Rochas Femme, Odalisque, Voleur de Rose, and Bandit for a start.

I have Bandit, Jubilation, and Derby. I also have Lui but never really considered it as a chypre! Hmmm... go figure I never really personally liked Sous le Vent. I appreciated it and would consider it as a masterpiece but still too citrusy for my taste. I've been wanting to dry Miss Dior in vintage parfum form for sooo long and have heard good things about Oakmoss (profumi.it).
So much to try...so little time LoL!

Yup, I had Caleche a while back; loved it but wouldn't repurchase and Calyx I did not like.

    Ok, maybe-
    Parfumerie Generale: Querelle
    Mazzolari: Vetiver
My new favorite is Ajne: Espoir or Savoir, I think is a bit more masculine.

24 Faubourg Eau Delicate, one of my all time favorites. I've run out of suggestions and I need to go out for some dinner.

I'm still hanging in here, I am getting hungry though. I need to ask you: where have you found Parure? I have never come across it and would love to try it. Thanks.

I second that. And if you like Estee Lauder's Knowing, have you tried Azuree?

Of course, I think Misouko and Chanel Pour Monsieur are divine, and you hate those two, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Acqua di Parma Profumo. Beautiful, but it'll cost you!

    My review in Basenotes:

I've worn this, and I think it's perfectly suitable for a man to wear for a special evening out. The chypre accord is based on the oakmoss, and the florals are not overpowering, but balanced with the spicy notes, making just the right combination to be flattering on a man. So, guys: Don't be shy! Try this one; it's elegant and sensual at the same time!

A fragrance that is on my test list. "Green chypre", five stars - according to Luca Turin; many positive reviews. Some say it's a masterpiece: Givenchy III.

I totally agree with JaimeB - you need to try Profumo. It knocked me off my feet when I smelled it. It is a very well done chypre.

For modern scents. I'd second Givenchy III. You can occasionally get a real bargain on it as well.

Thanks for the suggestions! I proudly own AdP Profumo, but the old one. I find the fruity notes riper and more true to life. As for the reformulated one, I find it too similiar to The Party which I have. I have my work cut out for me. I have a lot of testing to do! I'll keep you guys up to date!

If you're looking for a good floral chypre then you could do worse than Edwardian Posy by Penhaligon's. Very good, rich fragrance that lasts ages.
