    Default Eau d'Hermes- Natural?

On the Hermes website, Eau d'Hermes is described as a "Eau de Toilette Natural Spray". Does this mean Hermes uses natural ingredients for the scent?

You'll find nearly all spray/vaporizer perfumes are called "natural spray". Most commonly I see this phrase: "vaporizer / natural spray". I'm not exactly sure of the origins of the phrase (perhaps to differentiate from pressurized or aerosol sprays?) but it does not mean the perfume is made of natural ingredients.

    Natural spray means non-aerosol.

Terre d'Hermes is a great fragrance, but it's not made of natural ingredients. They can't make all those smoke and tar smells without chemicals.

But that doesn't mean it's bad at all.

Very few perfume companies actually use natural ingredients (from what I've read here, some will use a couple of natural ingredients to give more depth, but mixed with chemicals - Chanel and Creed are supposed to be quite famous for doing this).

Natural ingredients can be really, really expensive, so most natural perfumes are either made by really small single-person niche companies (like Ayala Moriel, who is a member here) or sell for really high prices (brands like Rich Hippie and By Kilian)

That being said, that doesn't take anything away from Terre d'Hermes. There's no way you could make something that smells like Terre with all natural ingredients.

And all that really matters is if it smells good, which many many people think it does...

(and thanks to sofresh - I never knew that!)

...nobody was talking about Terre d'Hermes...

Good info about the use of naturals, though.
