Jean Patou Eau de Patou pour Homme
I just purchased a bottle from a Basenoter and whoa! This kicks butt and takes no prisoners!! The opening is just magnificent, with lime framing an aldehyde mosaic. Middle notes are dominated, for me, by Patchouli and Cedarwood/fruit. Musk/Civet with a Mossy underlayment holding my rapt attention through the Basenotes. Strong sillage and over 12 hours of pure bliss. A work of art....
The following is a list of notes from the_good_life's review of Eau De Patou (woman's version):
"Did you know there was a male and a female version of Eau de Patou?
Eau de Patou pour homme from 1976 is listed in the H&R Duftatlas from 1989 with these notes:
Top:Lemon, Lime (Bergamot, Mandarin, Basil, Aldehyde)
Middle:Jasmin, Patchouli (Iris, Clove, Fruit note, Cedarwood)
Base:Moss, Musk (Amber, Civet, Labdanum)"
It has the Patou signature backbone and in my opinion is worthy of exaulted praise. Another gem of a fragrance cut down and discontinued by idiots.
