No Tricky Thursday for me thankyouverymuch SMM! I got tricked yesterday when the carpet cleaners didn't show up (and didn't call me back) and half the furniture in my house slept on the back porch last night. Of course, the cats consider anything out there to be fair game. Hopefully another company with a very good reputation will arrive in a little bit.

I sampled Rochas Tocade last night and was struck by a similarity to Chanel Allure Sensuelle. So today I'm trying a side-by-side comparison.

    Have a Theraputic Thursday everyone!

And Happy Birthday to one of our excellent mods, jrd4t!

I guess I'm half way like An Oud Girl today--I'm in a Rochas scent.

Rochas Globe here, which never fails to really knock me out with pleasure. I think it dates from the late '80s or '90s sometime, but it smells antique to me, like walking into a beautiful and very expensive antique store.

Wore Idole by Lubin this morning. It's still quite cool here in the mornings, so it was perfect, and certainly something that brings good vibes for a Thursday!

This evening sampling again Kouros Sport Cologne. It doesn't shout or project as much as it's "Father" but it's also not so dominate in the musc area... so it's more relaxing and easy to wear.

Peppermint (Series 5: Sherbet) by Comme des Garcons

Today, my cold has traveled to my head and nose, so my nose is fully stuffed and blocked up. I sound like I have cigarette voice. Seriously. So, I went with this scent because not only does the mint help loosen up some of my congestion, but the scent cools my skin when I apply it. I really doused myself with it this morning and on the way into work (in the extremely hot Miami weather) it felt like medicated talc all over my body. Tingle, tingle, tingle...!

    I just love mint scents!

    Happy Birthday jrd4t!

Today's SOTD is my first test of Perfumerie Generale Coze.

This one stumped me at first. So, thank you to The Non-Blonde blog for helping me figure this out.

I'm mostly getting wood, but not one I'm used to smelling - apparently, it's ebony. It's also peppery and has a very distinct smell that I never would have placed - cigarette tar.

I smoked like a chimney for years and my apartment always reeked. Smokers will know the smell - it's not the cigarettes or the smoke, it's the tar that gets in your clothes and in your furniture and on your walls. This has that smell. It's not the smell of smoke, it's the smell of a smoker.

Side note: I've never been able to figure out Bijan For Men until smelling this. Bijan is basically this with a chypre base and lemon top. Finally!
Has everyone checked out my Top 100 Blog??

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... When I got home from work, there were candles burning around bags of gifts and cards and dinner being made. One of the gifts was a fabulous candle the was the most intense, warm lavender (not the crisp, bracing type but the comforting, fuzzy variety). Its aroma made me have a hankering for By Kilian A Taste of Heave, so I put that on top of the remaining Straight to Heaven, and I was all set for the evening.
