Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost
I think they retouched the right breast--it doesn't look like it is even in the right place, lol. Probably airbrushed out any other offensive anatomy, too
She is lovely, though--and this photo looks much more mature than previous ads.
Her previous ad had that peculiar (airbrushed?) side-boob thing, too.
It was a whole topic of conversation at Now Smell This two years ago. See side-boob here.
I like how they airbrushed out the ribs that poke out below her collarbone, too!
But, regardless, for the demographic they're reaching out to...very appropriate and representative of what they're trying to convey for it.

Grrrrrrr.
Very smart choice for Chanel. I'd say that she projects the perfect "Coco the younger" image. Does Chanel ever make a misstep?
As for airbrushing, here you go. Exhibit "A":

I'm not sure which is weirder - moobs or soobs.

Kiera is beautiful indeed, although she could use a serving of potatoes!![]()
WOW!!!!!

Seriously? Moobs, RP! The answer is definitely, unquestionably, always MOOBS! Done right, a little soob can be a beautiful thing.
Yep, they brushed in another one for Keira. Not the worst that's been done to her though. I think she looks very beautiful.
Eddie: Sweetie, what are you drinking?
Patsy: Oh, this? Chanel No. 5.
-- Absolutely Fabulous
I don't care if it's airbrushed and perpetuates some fantasy... whatever! It's still wonderful to look at and admire. So perfect, it's almost overdone. And yet draws the eyes.
Too bad the scent is sooo popular I smell it almost on every other person I pass in the street.
They also thinned out her thickish waist in that one.
Someone once sent me a video on a fashion/PR pic retouch--the woman was beautiful and they still did extensive retouching. Suffice it to say, I do not think there is a human that looks like the result--it is entirely fantasy exaggeration.
What hope do any of us have? I want a jelly donut!

Lovely. I like the more mature look of her face. Looks like they actually gave her a little moob or soob, or whichever it is. I would love to see the pre-brushed shot.
Finger in the mouth kind of mars Keira's beauty -- that was my first impression.
Anybody else feels the same?

Yes, it does - but it seems rather calculated...It really is a great ad. Google-imaging on Keira and Chanel brings up a bunch of similarly good ones. These people know what they're doing. Even if I didn't know jack about the quality of Chanel fragrances, I'd be ready to stand in line to buy it for the wife.
- It looks thoughtful, in a very designerish way. It channels Chanel, so to speak.
- Viewed from this side of Chromosome Canyon, a finger to the lips is just plain hot. Just sayin'....
- The eyes are drawn to multiple places on the page. They want to look at both soob and lips and.... CHANEL. It's almost a perfect line.
- It adds "realism" despite massive airbrushing. Take out a ton of reality and add back some fake reality. It's almost like perfume!

I think the finger at the lips is sexy. It's like she's hungry for something that isn't food, and she just might take a bite out of you! This makes the image very engaging and arresting. The lip color is perfect, as is the rest of the styling.
I've read that Keira thinks her abs are her best feature, or at least she likes them best, or something like that. I'll never have abs like that because it's like Catherine Deveuve is rumored to have said, "After a certain age, you have to choose: your ass or your face." I'm with kumquat and Asha, "Ich bin einberliner!"

Hey, leave some for the guys, too!
Seriously, just look at the linked pictures above. NOBODY lives up to the images of beauty that are fed to us. Even real-life Keira isn't good enough. She's too boyish in the archer picture, so they add estrogenic curves in all the right places. They even have to move and augment a breast in the Chanel ad. And in EVERY picture of her, they erase the hollow-eyed, vacant look of hunger with some mighty fine touch-up (I remember that look from my self-starvation climbing days).
The beauties in perfume ads are every bit as fictitious as the perfumes themselves!
Worry not. Real men prefer REAL women. Albeit, WITH perfume.![]()
