    Default Fir / Fir Needle

Compiled from the Note Identification Project thread:

Fir Needle - Pretty evergreen aroma.

Fir Needle a bit sharper than the spruce but similar

50 ml water and 5 drops of EO, in a ceramic simmering potpourri. The oil is by Scents of Wonder, "Fir Needle."

A truly majestic scent! A very accurate rendition of fir notes. Sappy, resinous. Exceptionally clean, bracing, minty-cool notes. Also a bit of bark/wood. At times slightly like turpentine, but in a pleasant way. Quite delightful.

Oh, I agree, Ody! Fir is one of my favorite essential oils for a steam bath. It is so bracing and uplifting, yet gentle at the same time. Unlike Rosemary, Fir is cleansing without being harsh, if that makes sense.

Yes, that does make sense. Rosemary is a bigger scent, fuller somehow. It isn't that fir is delicate, but it is translucent somehow, not as "dense." If that makes sense!

Should we also include Fir balsam or it is separate from this? However, balsam is amazing.

Find it woody, earthy, sweet - similar to spruce.

I think they should be included. I would love to find an appropriate fragrance with this note, however it might be best as a room perfume
