    Default New Halston Fragrances

Halston presents a new fragrant pair Halston Woman and Halston Man, which will be launched under license of the house of Elizabeth Arden. Carlos Benaim of IFF was chosen to interpret and improve compositions of two classics: Halston for Women from 1975 and Haston Z-14 for men. It is interesting that back in 1975 Carlos Benaim used to work as junior perfumer with Bernard Chant on creation of the first fragrance. Its update was made as a modern reverse of original ingredients with structure adapted to the new concept.

Benaim said himself: "I followed the basic idea, but added ingredients that were not available when the first scents were launched."

Halston Woman is a fragrance for woman which incorporates Sicilian bergamot, marigold, black currant, rose, iris root, rose absolute, jasmine petals, along with patchouli, sandalwood and amber. It is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP.

Halston Man is composed of citruses, Artemisia, passionfruit, lavender, mint, cardamom, patchouli, labdanum and musk. The perfume arrives as 75 and 125 ml EDT.

Flacons were created as platinum versions of the original editions. Designer is Elsa Peretti. (WWD )

Sigh, I've been hearing so much about Halston here in BN, but where I'm from don't see any of them at all! I'm wondering if they are marketed limited to to West only. Getting them online would set me back with some hefty shipping charges. But thanks so much for the heads up, I'll be trying to score some samples instead. Thanks!

I just noticed this available for pre order at Neiman's website. It would be nice to see the Halston fragrance returned back to the prestige of being carried at fine department stores.

Nice. I'll be looking forward to this one.

Wonder if Jeff Gordon will be called upon to promote it?

I think NOT - now that the house of HALSTON is privately held company under the design direction of Marios Schwab, I am sure they are trying to buy back their fragrance rights.

Seeing recent event it looks like Elizabeth Arden Inc is working to conduct business under the new label owners terms - totally new name Halston Man, Halston women.

I am sure that Z-14 will be phased out along with Jeff and NASCAR -

I tried Halston Man at Neiman Marcus (they had a pre-release tester).

I really liked it. I know some people have compared Z-14 to Tom Ford Italian Cypress - I don't think that though. I do however see similarities between Halston Man and Italian Cypress.

I think this is a much better "update" of a fragrance then what Ralph Lauren did to bastardize modernize the original Polo.

I also tried the man's version at Neiman's and I liked it as well. I agree with petruccijc's comparison to Italian Cypress (among other similar woody frags).

Wow, the bottle looks awesome, would look great beside a bottle of kenzo power.
and about the juice, Is it different enough from z-14 to warrant a purchase?

Any one noticed that some great classics are being "modernized". Polo, Halston, Farenheit, Azzaro and many more. I am wondering if this is a market ploy. Are the fragrances close enough to the originals to merit using their name.

I never really liked Z-14 but this is different in an appealing way.
