Default Two new Profumum Roma fragrances coming soon!

There's not much detail on the fragrances themselves but, according to the Profumum website, the names of the new releases will be Oxiana and Acqua Nobile.

Coolio, I look forward to them. There are many, many Profumums I would like to own (Vanitas, Dulcis in Fundo, Volo AZ 686, etc....) but I always balk at spending $240. One of these days.

So, you are a Profumum watcher? I adore Acqua Viva, Dulcis in Fundo, & most of all, Neroli which I almost feel I could drink.

Please, let one of the new frags be green!

Love the name Oxiana. Sounds like an underground, German, techno DJ's name.

Ha, ha! Well, I was wondering when they were going to release something new and visited the website out of curioisty. And then, presto!

I haven't tried Neroli yet but will do ASAP. I love their greens but they're nowhere as tenacious as their other releases.

I'm in agreement with Mike, Oxiana sounds the most interesting of the two.

^ Ichnusa is green -- and figgy, and it lasts a hell lot of time. One of the most tenacious Profumums I've ever used.

On the Italian site they have descriptions, not much as to what is in them though.

    Acqva nobile

    "La nobiltą d'animo,
la nobiltą di cuore e d'espressione...
la nobiltą nella sua forma pił evidente"

    "The nobility of mind,
the nobility of heart and expression...
the nobility in its most obvious form"

    Oxiana
    "Il viaggio,la ricerca,la via.
    L'oriente che incontra l'occidente.
    Storie senza tempo e spazio.
    Dimensioni che,accarezzando l'anima,
    portano immagini di
    odori e meraviglie"

"The travel, the search, the way.
    The East meets the West.
    Stories without time and space.
    Dimensions, embrace the mind,
    bring images of
    smells and wonders"

    (Google translations!)

I'm hoping Acqva Nobile includes a good amount of oak moss...

I just wish I liked fig. I can't seem to get on with it.

The type of frag I would love them to do is real old school chypre in the Acqua di Parma Profumo style. Or tangy/herbal like Estee Lauder's Azuree.

When they do a frag, it is so intense and the ingredients are so perfect, I know they would do these kinds of scents beautifully.

Ichnusa was the one I was, seriously, hoping to be my second purchase but it didn't last that well on me. I did promise myself to try it again, sometime in the future.

Maybe Acqua Nobile could be the one you're waiting for...

    Btw, have you tried Victrix?

Profumums are definitely intense. If you like the scent you'll really like it, but if you don't like the scent it will be intensely awful. Dambrosia and Fumidus are two I can't handle at all. Oddly, I don't like gardenia but love Volo AZ - go figure.

I agree. I love all of them that I have tested, except for the Volo AZ 686, which I truly detest.

I like a few of them also. But they are way overpriced IMO. If I like the new ones, I guess I will just have to stick to decants of them - which is probably all I need anyway.

This is one I am not keen on trying, due to the coconut. The reviews, on Luckyscent, haven't been encouraging either...

When I was at Scent Bar a while ago and I got to meet the owners who were in-store for a Xmas party, we spoke about the Profumum line. It was the first time I got to smell Fumidus (Franco applied some to his own arm and accidentally sprayed his shirt sleeve instead, filling the tiny little shop with the smell of Fumidus for the rest of the evening). VA686 came up in conversation and he and the girl who works with him said they both hated it too. LOL

WOW! Thanks for the news, Trebor.

So far I've loved Acqua Viva, Dulcis in Fundo, Vanitas, Santalum (prior to reformulation) and a couple of others. I don't really like Acqua di Sale or Fumidus - the latter being something that actually kept me up at night before I had to scrub it off.

They're either love I must buy a bottle or hate scents for me. The only exception might be Santalum, which I thought was decent and I own only a decant of.

I enjoy Fumidus, Thundra and Vanitas.

I was in Rome and made a point of going to the Profumum store. I had thought I'd like Ichnusa. I appreciate its green notes but it is too figgy for me to be wild about. I had a sample of Thundra from Luckyscent and it is a pleasant, soft green scent but not compelling. The ones I (gulp) bought were Victrix and Olibanum. Olibanum in particular seemed like an excellent dry-green incense scent, I think may become my latest favorite. The shop is very nice, BTW, just off the Via del Corso and near the Pantheon.
Thanks for the heads-up about these new scents, they didn't mention them in the store.

In Australia, Oxiana was the name of a mining company( now OZ minerals),invested in it, lost $$$, you can see how I want nothing to do with it

I recently tested Victrix twice, and I can see how it manages to squeeze it's way into your consciousness. Lovely stuff. It reminded me of something JC Ellena would do for Hermes...a bit like Hermessence Poivre Samarcande: subtle, skillful blending, perfect diffusion, smells like nothing else remotely. Enjoy!

Oxiana has captured my interest. I'm dying to know if anyone else has tried it. It starts out slightly green. Almost piney, then it slowly morphs into a creamy chypresque version of Acqua di Parma Profumo (I think) it's a shape-shifter. That's why I'm axious to hash it over with some of you. The Aqua Noblis is a very good, fresh male scent, better than Victrix, IMO. But Oxiana is the one I really need to dissect. Anyone have feedback for me?
