    Default Hamptons vs. Chrome

I'm having some trouble here friends. I own both Azzaro Chrome and Bond Hamptons, the Bond being the more recent of the two, and I'm starting to sense great similarity between these two, thereby making it difficult for me to own both.

Chrome is definately cleaner, while Hamptons has a sweeter, more complex vibe. I get the Bergamot, Jasmine, Musk, and Sandalwood distinctly in both, although Chrome is made form lower quality synthetics.

I prefer a smaller wardrobe, and use Chrome almost as a cleasing of my olfactory pallete a day or two a week, but I find it disappointing to apply now that I own Hamptons.

Anyone else with opinions on this matter?

I don't see any similarity between these two.

I do find Creed SMW to be in the same vein as Bond Hamptons. Hamptons smells
awesome however I wish it had the same same longevity/sillage that I get from the
other Bonds (Wall Street & Eau de New York)

Chrome is a great scent for summer but it is too synthetic for me. I can't seem to be
able to wear it for the same reason.

I'd choose Hamptons of the two, notwithstanding the fact that they are not even similar to my nose.

I agree, Chrome is very synthetic to my nose.

I almost find Hamptons to be a blend between Chrome and SMW, two very succesful scents. I don't want this thread to turn into a discussion about the similarities between Hamptons and SMW though.

I would use the cheaper one during the week and save the bond for the weekends/off days.
I post lots from my I phone so if this looks like a text message that's why ( :

Hamptons really is an inferior copy of SMW, there's no avoiding the comparison. Hamptons is more "barbicide/axe/aquatic", not particularly natural imo. SMW smells more like actual tea tree oil and sour, sour currant mixed with that synthetic "fresh" accord they all share, chrome included. Chrome is the most linear, most floral and with the best longevity, SMW is the most natural, and Hamptons I just like less and less the more it dries down. The base is still a very high register, and definitely has not enough wood or citronellol to cover the disinfectant note, imo. Hamptons is one of the better looking Bond bottles though.

When I ordered and tried my sample of Hamptons, the first thing that entered my mind was Chrome.
Both are what I would call sharp aquatics.
Hamptons has a nicer bottle and smells good.
Chrome is extremely less expensive and smells good.
In my opinion the price for Hamptons is not justified because it is not very distinct, especially from Chrome.

    Chrome is a masculine scent.
Can it really be compared to Hamptons on that criterion?

Chrome is ultra long lasting, and never lets you down, no matter how hot and sweaty one gets.
Would Hamptons even rate by comparison?

I'd take Chrome, both on price and quality.

And I don't even like Chrome.

Chrome and Hamptons like sky and earth - different animals altogether Chrome is a big yuck factor for me.

I agree with everything here. I get a little too much fake like blossom from Hamptons and the comparison to hairspray is a bit unsettling.

I prefer Hamptons by Bond No. 9 over Silver Mountain Water by Creed.

Hamptons smells more like Snapple Iced Tea than Silver Mountain Water. Yeah, the projection of Hamptons is good, but not that great. Silver Mountain Water actually lasts a really long time, but you just need to spray more on for people to notice it.

In the end though, if Green Irish Tweed is double what Cool Water is.
If Millesime Imperial is triple what Unforgivable is.
Silver Mountain Water is ten times what Hamptons is.
