Default Pepper / Pepper Corn / Pink Pepper

From the Note Identification Project thread:

    Pink Peppercorn
is not as sharp, but it has a nice fruity aspect to it.

I recently read that green pepper and pink pepper are essentially the same thing (i.e., both are unripe peppercorn). Can anyone confirm that or dispel it from my bank of knowledge? Thanks.
