I think somebody may have been confused.
It was probably me....I think I misread the posts on this thread and remembered other posts I'd seen elsewhere....

Does that Mo-called "fan bottle" have a name? It is lovely....can you imagine it full of scent? What a decadent treasure!

'Fan top" works for me. I've seen it called the 'Baccarat Bottle", too.

My fear of calling it "Baccarat Bottle" is that not all fan-shaped bottles were actually made by Baccarat, and Guerlain has a few other Baccarat-designed bottles that are a different shape....Yours is so gorgeous, kumquat. I don't even particularly like Shalimar (sacrilege, I know, for a vintage lover like me!), but I'm enthralled by that bottle!

Yellow cut crystal victorian? (Very heavy) Orange Devilbiss pair next to Oeillet bottle which is finally open. Yes, it's carnation. Straight-forward, deep & creamy soliflore.
Then, the gentleman's bottle with it's inner stopper. The odd gold bottle which could lay flat, but how? Olive & gold Irice next to a deeply cut gold crystal antique travel flask.
And a carved black rose which may be by Hoffman. I have not seen this in any books.

Left to right: Deco piece, red cut crystal victorian flask, deco hand-painted atomizer, malachite (Ingrid?), heavy brilliant cut victorian crystal (Stopper fits the hand perfectly!),
french opaline with gold stars, brilliant cut lay-down travel flask, mexican silver deco, Caron 'Colony' bottle still fragrant!.

Thank-you, dear. I try for the most part to get things in a reasonable price range. I have the most fun with the odd ones that are orphans because they are too weird. I got the black rose for very little. (Around $30) It looks much better since I cleaned it. I decided the atomizer bulbs are of no consequence. it's the design of the vessel that interests me.

I understand completely- I like the design of bottles too - a very interesting and rewarding hobby . I love to learn the history of the bottles too . Anything made of glass fascinates me . I really love looking at Laliques - not just bottles but the figurines . Well Kumquat , you have great taste and I wish you much success finding more wonderful interesting treasures and keeping us informed.

I saw a sunbeam on the kitchen counter and couldn't resist making this glam shot. I hope you'll indulge me.
I am letting the Infini sit in the cupboard with alcohol dripping on the seal every now &
then alternating with a shot of lubricant. It is currently still sealed.

You see? I've been here a short time, and that is the first response I have to that beautiful photo! It's a disease!

Beautiful, kumquat. I love that your love of fragrance led to a love of perfume bottles which has also led to a minor (!) side hobby in photographing antique perfume bottles.....

A gold Devilbiss. A Silver mercury glass with polka-dots.
The old 'Paris' bottle is a mystery scent with a mis-matched stopper but some great filagree.

Green with gold trim, also Devilbiss, and the really old 'Bohemian' style atomizer with enamel decorations.
In back, a 'Moser' type with gold enamel decoration.

This was listed as Loetz, I believe this is a 'millefiore' type.

A red-top Caron Narcisse bottle. A very early bohemian style cranberry glass atomizer with enamel decoration.

Sabino, perfume & powder box/case. (It's hard to see, those are swallows on the powder box.)

I pulled the trigger on my holiest of grails ever...DJEDI. If you've never tasted this one, it is the driest, crispiest, green chypre in modern times.
A glorious classic made when the last of the Guerlains was still alive to oversee the process.

Here's a cabinet that is almost complete for this collection. They have to change some of the connections
(behind the cabinet) for the TV on the wall before I can finish filling this.

I found this miniature portrait and decided that at least some of these perfume bottles were the kind she would have used. Now she is in the back of my mind when I look at these.

Cobalt Baccarat(?)hand painted number on bottom-57/66 with gilt decoration followed by a Mt. Washington Pairpoint, also gilded, with new atomizer.

Opaline Mt. Washington glass, then, a green glass atomizer with enamel & gilt applications.

Baccarat (more gilt) carriage coffret with counterweight next to a Sevres with hand-painted flower motif & gilded.

Gorgeous stuff! I can totally imagine the lady in the portrait using that Sevres bottle, or perhaps receiving the coffret from her liveried footman!

I am still swooning. That Victorian miniature portrait is almost haunting. Her eyes are so expressive and a bit sad, somehow I think she would smell like roses. Beautiful stuffs Kumquat, thank you for sharing

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad you are enjoying these. I was noticing how much the lady in the ivory portrait looks like Princess Diana. also, she seems to have on only one earring. I wonder if that means something. Maybe it indicates she is single or engaged? I will have to give her a name at some point, I suppose. I read a series of diaries based on Josephine's diary & her letters to Napolean. So I'm sort of in that time frame in my head. I've also started reading "The Scented Palace" which is about Marie Antoinette's perfumer.
