Thread: Coldest Scent

    Default Coldest Scent

Has anyone come across a scent that has smelt surprisingly cold, like an ultra-fresh scent. I know of GIT and Cool water but I'm after something that actually feels like your invigorating your sense of smell by inhaling it. Encre Noir has a fresh hit to it but it falls back on its green provenance taking away the potential to be a completely frozen scent. Any back notes can apply but primarily focusing on a cooling numbness character to it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I like Himalaya for that cold, clean feeling.

Serge Lutens' Gris Clair is a cold lavender scent.

But if i get the focus of your question, perhaps Lacoste's Booster is what you may be looking for - menthol, eucalyptus and mint all in one frag!

Oh, I also find the Unicorn Spell to be quite cold. It's definitely green, too, but icy too.

L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme is by far the "coldest" scent i've come across. A former employee used to apply this quite heavily. His corner of the office always seemed 10° colder.

Blenheim Bouquet. The pine seems to aspirate the heat off the skin to produce a cooling effect.

No. 88 cold? Wow, there's just no accounting for differences in noses. The rose / sandalwood / incense combo is about the last thing I'd consider "cold".

If you want cold, my recommendation is Proraso aftershave splash.

Seriously. It's a pretty well done traditional eau de cologne scent, with enough menthol in it to chill your face for hours.

You took the words right out of my mouth on this one! Diesel Plus Plus is the first thing I thought of. It doesn't smell cool, but seriously cold. I don't know how they got that effect with this one. Try it and you'll be amazed.

On me it starts cold, but warms up considerably. I once read that it's the opposite case with Encense & Lavande: Starts hot and gets cooool.

Apart from that: Vétiver Extraordinaire (Frédéric Malle). Of course!

I was just gonna suggest L'eau D'Issey Summer '08. The topnotes are totally icy to me.

A few sprays of Creed Selection Verte is literally cold, due to the mint oil in it. Truly a winner for summer fragrances in my opinion - I never thought I'd appreciate the "liquid AC", as h_d says, as much as I have

I read reviews and posts on BN by others mentioning it's quite a cold scent, so my nose isn't that crazy.

    Cool Re: Coldest Scent

Besides the aforementioned Vetiver Extraordinaire, Geir, and Creed's Himalaya and Selection Verte there's a wide choice with

    Iceberg Twice
    Habit Rouge
    Acqua di Parma
    Bois de Cedrat
    Bowling Green
    Gai Mattiolo Uomo
(Trumper's) Extract of West Indian Limes
    Montana Parfum d'Homme (original)

    Good Hunting through the blizzard!
