    Default Powdery Notes

I often enjoy a powdery base and hear lots of members talking about powdery notes. I was wondering what notes actual contribute to "powderiness." When I think of powder notes like vanilla, moss, oakmoss, leather, and dark flowers come to mind. Any others?

I think that combinations of the following could result in a baby-powder like accord: Iris, Musc, Amber, Tonka, Vanilla

In addition to the notes already mentioned, Oakmoss can be powdery also. There are also some synthetic musks that have a soapy/powdery quality about them.

A thread on this had quite a few good responses a while back. Here's the link:

Iris is the most obvious, but I also think you can add rose, sandalwood, and violet. Incense can also come off as powdery.
