Went to Saks at lunch - I added a shot of the new Tom Ford Gray Vetiver as well as a shot of the new Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise Cologne. Both quite nice - I almost bought the Tom Ford, then I almost bought the Jo Malone... then my lovely SA gave me decants of each and said to think about it and come back in a few weeks for the bag event discount.

Hi all and happy London Meet-Up Day!

    I expect detailed reports...

Today's SOTD is my first test of Michael Kors by Michael Kors, which apparently used to be called Michael For Men - with thanks to Snaggy1 for the sample!

Tobacco and leather and plums, but with a slightly unfortunate ozone note in there. It feels kind of like someone submitted a really nice, expensive, classy-smelling fragrance to the bean counters at Estee Lauder and some suit said "yeah, it's nice, but make it more fresh", so, in a fit of artistic suicide, the frustrated perfumer threw in some cheap ozone and rounded out the otherwise beautiful plum with that popular TANG-smelling fake orange. Seriously, you can actually smell that there's a beautiful, well-crafted perfume in here, with a pinch of crap added, most likely to satisfy some corporate idiot.

95% great, but that other 5% is just sad...

Amouage Lyric for this evening. This scent is surprisingly versatile for being so rose heavy.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost
