Default Sa Majeste la Raspberry - a.k.a. Tuscan Leather

Thanks to a fellow Basenoter I just had the chance to sample this and give this a full day's wearing. Color me surprised! While the leather note in this is very nice and true - distinctly a "jacket" leather to something like Cuir Ottoman's shoe-leather note - what this fragrance mostly smells of is raspberries! I'm reading all the reviews and feeling quite baffled as to why the dominant note of the composition isn't mentioned by others - surely I can't be the only one who smells this...?

Personally, I really wish this WAS the stripped-down leather fragrance the reviews mention, as I'm not sure how I feel about berry fragrances, especially the somewhat odd berry-leather accord, but really quite love the purity and accuracy of the leather note. However, I don't think I'll be purchasing a fragrance that smells like a handbag full of fruit compote...

    Your thoughts?

Tuscan Leather is probably my favorite winter leather frag and I love its raspberry note, but I always felt like I needed it more pronounced. The other day, I decided to experiment. I sprayed Tuscan Leather and Visa (a bit leathery in its own right), and voila! A fruitier Tuscan Leather! Just gorgeous!

Tom Ford Tuscan Leather and Serge Lutens Chergui is a gorgeous combination.

The rasberry note is very subtle on my skin. Perhaps your skin brings out the fruitiness more A.

Could be so. I'm reminded of a recent encounter with Lovin' Blackberry ( or at least, a particular Creed fragrance that should have that name ).

When I first smelled Tuscan Leather, I noticed this raspberry accord.
If you want just the same rasberry without leather try Givenchy Hot Couture edt.
Both scents were created by the same nose
