SotE: L'Heure Bleu
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Another back to school: as a recovering grad student, the historical import of L'Heure Bleu gives me that autumnal desire to read, to learn, to understand the past........

I wore DelRae Bois de Paradis today. Did a morning shift at work, went with Mr.T -- for moral support -- to cut the friend's grass, came back to work. Spoke with my immediate supervisor about dream jobs -- his is to be an activity organizer on a cruise ship, mine is a guest lecturer on fragrances and notes. We both had a good laugh through this bonding event.
Hope your Monday and the last day of summer was not very hard on you and yours.

Today's SOTD has been my first test-wearing of Byredo Pulp.
In the store, this one never fails to grab me and make me sniff wistfully, but on me it's not really doing much. It reminds me a lot of a mangosteen-flavored soy candle I used to burn at work, and it's really hard to justify spending this much on a frag because it reminds me of a $9 candle I used to like, when I could just go get another candle. Meh.
Since I was a bit sniffed-out yesterday, I skipped the SOTD post, but mine was D.S. & Durga Coriander, from my full bottle.
Spices, woods, and tea-inflected red berries. I have to say I don't understand this scent at all (it's supposed to be based on coriander essential oil they distill themselves in their home), but I really like it. It's one my nose will have to grow into...
Has everyone checked out my Top 100 Blog??
Posting ever so lat, per usual.
Hope everyone will have a smashing week.
I am still loving the recaps of the get-togethers, such a fabulous time for all.
Today i started out with Weekend by Burberry.
I used to always spray myself at work in Sephora so i never thought of purchasing a bottle. After leaving Sephora i forgot about it, until 2 weeks ago when i stopped in the Burberry shop and asked for a spritz. I fell in love all over again and ordered a bottle 3 days later. Well i am so happy i ordered this, it really is such a carefree yummy scent. It is relaxed and laid-back, if that makes any sense. It just really fits the need, a strong scent that is very soothing and calming, who could want more.
I took a small dab of Ines de la Fressange this afternoon and did not enjoy that at all. It was much too much, a little too sweet also.
So tonight i am back in Weekend by Burberry, just heavenly.
Have a peaceful night all, love and hugs.

I was all sniffed out too, on Sunday, but wore samples I had acquired on our wild adventure the day before. So, yesterday I wore by Kilian Liaisons Dangereuses and Guerlain Attrape Coeurs. The DL was really sweet-sour jam all the way through, but then most of the fruityness gave way to more floral, then amber-vanilla, and in the deep drydown. a rather masculine leathery musk. AC was beautiful, and right now beyond words. The only down part was a portion of the development that had too much ungrounded spice giving a bit of a candle effect. I think it was probably supposed to be carnation. Still, a gorgeous fragrance, though.
Today, I wore my new Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise, which is actually an EDC, not EDT as I thought when posting on Saturday. I must be honest, it is really nothing special or ground-breaking. But, what it DOES deliver is a light, dry vanilla without a vanilla extract edge or headache inducing vanilla confection bombs. It is thin, light, sheer, subdued, and I love the licorice note. Sometimes an easy frag is all I really want, and yes, it will be good for layering. Thankfully there is no perfume police waiting to write me a ticket when I layer it with something other than a different Jo Malone scent.
SotE, switched to chocolate with Borneo 1834.

Another long day for me. Could not decide what sample to wear and it was so hot today that I needed a citrus. I chose Iskander.
Wearing Montale Red Aoud to sleep...
I'm arriving late today! So wonderful to end a Monday with such a fun thread. Everyone is in great humor today.
We had what felt like an early fall day here too. I've been scent-twinned with turquoisewater in YSL Y (thanks to a great sniffing buddy!).
Good night, everyone!
Eddie: Sweetie, what are you drinking?
Patsy: Oh, this? Chanel No. 5.
