Jeremy Scott & Philippe Roques
This is a complex and beautiful fragrance, burdened with an unfortunate name and a clichéd, homoerotic-shock-tactics brief from Jeremy Scott, the second-rate designer who has built his career on that sort of thing. But you should ignore all the nonsense JS contributed to this project, just as the talented perfumer Philippe Roques did. Instead of a locker-room fantasy, Roques gives us a nicely balanced composition, with fresh-spicy topnotes, an understated rose heart note, and a woody, musky drydown that is simultaneously clean and rich. Tender and dynamic, with good lasting power and moderate sillage.
Wore CdG Man 2 this morning... the very close cousin to Le Labo Vetiver 46, and since I didn't have any of that, I went for the CdG!
This evening some samples of Annick Goutal's Myrrhe Ardent and Musc Nomade
Here in Seattle, September 1 is the first day of fall, at least to me. So, as one BN member called it, "the scent of autumn", Caron's Anarchiste.

Dior Homme Sport. Dont really understand the negativeness about this one, I personally love it so far.

Creed OV... basically $200 Mugler cologne
Well, I'm sporting that Mugler Cologne!!
YSL Nuit de L'Homme. Excellent stuff. My wife bought this for my birthday. It's close wearing, but very persistent. Does not announce itself as much as L'Homme. In some ways, it's like a cross of original Egoiste and YSL L'Homme. Sweet, warm and personal! Where L'Homme is a year around scent, I think Nuit will shine more in Fall and Winter.
I love cologne.

What is happening to me?
I cannot believe I am actually sampling this stuff. As bad of a rap as it gets and as much overplayed as it might be, it is really not that bad. A light citrus opening with some musk in the drydown. Somewhat poor projection however.
Bottle worthy? Well, we will have to see.
Everyone Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
Today, I'm basking in another coriander-based favorite, Miller et Bertaux Green, Green, Green and... Green.
This one pairs the herbal red berry coriander note with bay leaf, resulting in a really nice fruit tea scent (bay leaf always reminds me of tea when paired with berries or fruit). Yum.
Has everyone checked out my Top 100 Blog??

This evening I'm wearing Montale Black Aoud with a dab of By Kilian Pure Oud on one hand and Le Labo Oud 27 (I think 27?) on the other.
The opening of the Le Labo is a bit nose turning, while the Kilian opening is really lovely. However, a couple hours later, the Kilian seems to move more to a more familiar woody scent, but the Le Labo has turned into a gorgeous scent. I'm not sure either will find it's way to my house though - one costs more than my first car, the other has 45 minutes of feeling like you made a mistake after putting it on.
I'm a colognosaurus. Rawr!
