Default Scent Synchronization Day Autumn/Spring 2009 - Tiebreaker!

OK - Looks like we had a tie between Habit Rouge and Encre Noir. So we will have a tiebreaker poll to see who wins between these two, to determine which fragrance will be worn on Scent Synchronization Day (Tuesday, September 22, 2009).

This poll will close on 10th September 2009 at 05:07 AM EST - so vote soon!

Of the two, Encre Noir. Of course, I'd like even more to be able to try Encre Noir, as no stores carry it locally.

Another vote for Encre Noire. It was my original choice and I've no reason to change.

And another for Encre Noir ! ...
I must be one of the few people that was never impressed with Habit Rouge ! ...

I think it's one of the weakest of all the Guerlain's ! :brolly: (*runs for cover* )
(My jaw was agape incredulously, back when it won "Top Spot" in the "March Madness Race" ).

    Hi y'a!
Why not call your local Holt Renfrew and kindly ask them for a sample of the EN. I know the EN is exclusive to their stores in some areas and usually they're very good about customer requests.

Good luck. (Or send me a vial and I'll send you some EN from my bottle! I should find out where to buy the vial tubes in Canada. Anybody know?)

    Encre Noir has my vote.

Guerlain wins everything, it's time for something different.

Ahhhhh, I don't have both of them. I don't know anyone nearby who has Encre Noire and Habit Rouge is not available in my country. I do plan to get both FBs, though, but don't think they'll get here on time.

I guess I'll go with the Basenotes flavor of the moment, Encre Noir: I like vetiver, and I don't like heavy vanilla powder. So...easy vote for me!

I thought with a tie that we would end up layering them. Habit Noir sounded interesting

Hey I think I read that some of the ladies here have tried it during the BN meet up, and few have implied that it was disappointing compared to the original.... Can't seem to find the thread... it should be one of the BN meet up reports, but I can't remember which state... Anyone can confirm this?

Voted for Habit Rouge. If Encre Noire wins, I'll need a sample - Anyone have some juice to spare?

I actually saw the Encre Noire Pour Elle at Galeries Lafayette on my trip to Paris in the middle of last month. So it is already out, sort of. (And, as reported, it's not as good as the men's... quite a change of pace from normal.)

Still, since it's almost in the bag for Encre Noire (good thing, since I tossed my Habit Rouge to another Basenoter a long time ago, and I feel that PdN New York is a more refined Habit Rouge), I'm going to check the local Perfumania tonight to see if they offer it. I've seen Lalique scents there before, and I was going to stop by Barnes & Noble in the same mall to get a Consumer Reports Cars special-edition buying guide anyway. This just gives me another reason to visit, plus Perfumania often offers extra 20% off specials on lesser-known scents. I will report back, so if you're close by a Perfumania, keep your eye on this thread!

If not, there's always the interwebs, and if all else fails and us Basenoters make a big run on the etailers that sell it for $50-60 per bottle, there's always Saks Fifth Avenue (closest one to me is in Naptown), where Encre Noire sells for $110 per 3.3 oz bottle, about as much per ounce as that other black ink. You know, the kind with the letters "HP" on the package.
