    Default Your Cheapest Goldies?

There are times when one cannot simply afford to splurge on a niche scent. In these times its often convenient and timely to try your hand at a golden bargain. I'm talking classic fragrances that can be brought on the cheap or just excellent designer scents that the mainstream crowd have missed.

I have the following under my radar at the moment

    Fidji (1966)
    Guy Laroche

    Horizon (1993)
    Guy Laroche

    Iquitos (1987)
    Alain Delon

    Knowing (1988)
    Estée Lauder

    Moschino pour Homme (1990)
    Moschino

Oscar de la Renta pour Lui (1981)
    Oscar de la Renta

    and slightly more costly...

    Tommy Bahama for Men (2005)
    Tommy Bahama

    Zino Davidoff (1986)
    Davidoff

    Eau Sauvage Fraîcheur Cuir (2007)
    Christian Dior

    Kouros Fraîcheur (1993)
    Yves Saint Laurent

What would suggest is a good, SOLID cheap/cheapish buy?

Yeah! I think he got the large bottles, each for 20 or 30 quid if I recall correctly.

I have to admit, I'm quite jealous.

Here in Berlin (that is to say Germany, for that matter -.- ) fragrances dont come as such bargains, if you want a stealdeal, the only way is ebay.

And since shipping to germany isnt exactly a walk in the park the German ebay is quite crowded.

I'm pretty sure I have been battling other BNs for certain fragrances more than once...

Grey flannel however is one that I'm patiently awaiting for less than 10 € shipped and i'm sure it'l happen

Monsieur Rochas however is a steal if you can find the Vintage.
Got mine for 15 € shipped and consider it a bargain

I found Pino Fifty 2.5 oz Eau De Toilette Spray by Pino Silvestre on Amazon.com U.S, from an independent vendor for $17.50 shipped and Unscripted by Patrick Dempsey by Avon on ebay U.S. for $8.99 shipped. Both are very decent and wearable and I think the prices qualify as cheap.

I love this thread because I am a cheapskate through and through, I hope that we get many recommendations.

Grey flannel is def. my cheapest frag but packs a wallop and beats a lot of designers and even niche when It comes to quality, longevity and sillage.

also, I just got a 100ml bottle of Opium EDT, and this thing definitely a bang for buck scent!

I have heard that it's been dc'd. Damn shame because it's one of the few "flanker" colognes that actually stay true to the original. Though I prefer the original Kouros, Fraicheur is fantastic - it's basically Kouros but a little lighter, more citrus, and less civet. It's still very manly smelling, just like the original.

It depends on the part of the world you are in: for example, "cheap" down here would be solely drugstore scents. Still, you might find designer bottles for very low prices, but this is an exception rather than the rule.

As an example, a well known stockist is actually selling 100 ml bottles of Boucheron and Jaipur for around USD 50, when the usual price is USD 100 or more. Thus, I am not including designer's scents since there is no TJ Maxx in Argentina.

    1. Fragrance X is offering free shipping overseas, so I can attest as for those unavailable locally: Jovan's Musk for Men and Pierre Cardin's EdC. BTW, I am planning to buy Danas' British Sterling, Royal Copenhagen, Chaps and Stetson

2-. Avon's fragrances found everywhere: Wild Country, Black Suede

3-. Avon's scents discontinued but available down here: Wood Musk

4-. Global drugstore scents: Old Spice

5-. Local drugstore scents: McTaylor, Vieja Lavanda Fulton, Agua de Pravia 1905, Heno de Pravia, Colbert, Grandal

It gets so bad reviews here....

A very cheap blind buy that I enjoyed immensly is Diesel Zero Plus (the red one). Dryish barbershop cinammon and spices. I think of it as a drier Musc Ravageur. And seeing chaps I was thinking how would those two (0+ and Chaps) work together?....

Hey, it`s almost Etat Libre d`Orange!!! At least, they have the very same creative director and owner (Etienne de Swardt).

I also did not get the buzz about DG By Man. What`s up? Did I miss something?

    My cheapest Goldies are:
all my Carons shipped from USA.

Cabochard Gres which I like much more than Aramis

Alliage, Estee Super and Private Collection EL parfums which I wear myself and bought in US ebay for 20 USD shipping to Russia included

Azuree EL cologne too (bought here)

Ted Lapidus pour homme - rose-patch-honey chypre - about 30 USD

And hey, Patricia de Nicolai from her web-shop is not so much more expensive!!! I should point it out, as I`m happy with my last purchase from her (Le temps d`un Fete)
    Vetiver The Great!!!
