Default Top: Citrus, Middle: Woody or Fougere, Base: Sweet??

I am looking for something with the following profile and I would really appreciate recommendations that are relatively easy to find (nothing too obscure).

Top: Citrus - can be lemon, grapefruit, orange, bergamot, yuzu, or lime
Middle: floral, woody, or even fougere
Base: sweet - think vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean (would prefer if it was not amber...and please no leather-heavy bases)

The budget doesn't matter. I have limited experience with niche fragrances so feel free to offer those suggestions as well. Thank you all so much!!

No guarantees but if you can find them lined up in a row (which is how they are generally displayed) check out the progression from Acqua di Parma Colonia to AdP Colonia Assoluta to AdP Colonia Intensa. Personally I stick with the original Colonia and have done for years, but Assoluta might be closer to what you're describing. The Intensa gets a little 'rougher' - maybe into your 'non-leather' uncomfort zone, but still pretty easygoing.

How do you know that the scent pyramid you've listed above, is actually going to smell good to you?

How can you have a "fougere" middle?

Btw, there are countless fragrances like the one you described.. Chanel Allure Sport is a good one. Himalaya is another.

Well, I know it will smell good to me because I'm not looking for specific notes just more of certain style or feeling. I figure its not hard to find a fragrance with a citrus top; there practically dime a dozen from '98 to 2005. Also, I've been quite flexible with the middle since I've stated that I wouldn't mind a fougere, floral or woody heart. But at the end of the day, I'd like something that has a sweet finish. It doesn't have to be Lolita Lempicka sweet, but something that will make me think sweet (hence why I listed base notes that I associate with sweet dry-downs). Any suggestions?

I guess that was a little strangely put. In essence, I'm saying the fragrance can be a fougere but I want it to have a citrus top with a a sweet bottom. But it doesn't have to be a fougere: it could be an oriental, woody, or floral fragrance.

Immediately after I posted, I thought of Allure Homme which is exactly what I'm describing. If you can think of something that's different from Allure Homme but offers the same qualities I've listed, then please feel free to recommend it. I have not tried Allure Homme Sport but it may be what I'm looking for.

    I'm thinking YSL L'Homme:

Citrus peel, Ginger, Basil blossoms, Violet leaves, Vetiver, Tonka bean.

Yeah you definitely need to try Allure Sport! Silver bottle, black cap. Versace PH is very similar to it, so you might as well try it too. Creed Himalaya is in the same category as well and very good.

I must bolster my perennial favorite, Chanel pour Monsieur (the original). It opens with bright and smooth citrus, has a floral woody center, with a chypre base of sweet musk, oakmoss, vetiver, and a thought of tonka (though there is none).

Its funny that you mention Versace Blue Jeans. That one also came to mind shortly after I started searching for this particular profile.

I will definitely try the Chanels (Egoiste & Pour Monsieur) when I get a chance. Also, I have not heard much about Eau de Reglisse by Caron. I will definitely look into that as well.

    Thanks for the tips everybody!

I think a cheapie that fits the bill is Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur.
