Sounds wonderful! Is this a new release?
Just purcahsed L'Impact from Caron shop here in Paris. I must say I'm so happy with my purchase. Comes in a black box with a pouch. Bottle is same design as PUH. Juice is jade green.
Scent opens with bergamot and lavender. I can detect the bergamot note more readily than the edt. I think it might be due to the fact that they have toned down that 'doughy' note and replaced it with a lighter 'menthol' note in the beginning. Heart has traces of rose, clary sage, lavender and to my nose, cinnamon or somekind of sweet balsam. The base is composed of vanilla, amber and musk. The vanilla as a whole is not as sweet as the original version but rather more balanced and restrained. Beautiful musk/amber accord!!!
Overall, a fantastic purchase yet again. My next purchase will most likely be the other parfum for men - Habit Rouge L'extraite. Keep you all posted.
Sounds wonderful! Is this a new release?
Yes, relatively new. It was released I think in 2005/6. It was touted as the first Pafrum/l'extraite for men. However strength-wise, it is much more like an EDP to me. Worn it for 10 minutes on my arm can can still smell the bergamot. This is one of the more rustic scents out there on the market. Think lavendre fields in provence in the south of France in spring!
How much did you pay for it if you don't mind? I have a roll-on tester I was given at Nordstorm, and it's like a toned down PuH version. Very nice, but really hard to find in the US.
"I exist for myself, and for those to whom my unquenchable thirst for freedom gives everything, but also for everyone, since insofar as I am able to love - I love everyone. Of noble hearts, I am the noblest - and the most generous of those that yearn to give love in return. - I am a human being, I love death and I love life."

Always been curious about L'Impact but it's next to impossible to get in the US. I think it's only at Caron in NYC. Good review makes me want to drive to the city soon to check it out.
I got an Oz. when I bought Pour un Homme in a gift set. I should really go ahead a do a side by side comparison.
I've had Impact for a few years now and I really prefer this version compared to Pour Un Homme EDT. It has a more concentrated note of something that I found lacking in the EDT version. I also have the EDT for well over 15 years and it is still approx 95 % full - have not used it that much as I have never fully appreciate the fragrance until Impact was released. A lot of people have mentioned that the concentration is rather an EDP instead of an extrait but I'm happy that it has taken this concentration for me to fully appreciate the fragrance. I have a 75 ml spray bottle but a 30 ml bottle exists as well - came across the 30 ml bottle at the Caron shop in Paris some 3 - 4 yrs ago but passed up on that but took the plunge a year later and really loving this. As far as extraits go, they did mention that this was the first extrait for men, it may be for Caron but I bought a 10 ml parfum extrait of Super Fragrance for Men from Aigner back in 1986 so parfum for men have existed in the past!
I just sprayed some Impact on my hand along with some Pour le Jeune Homme and I quite liked the combo....
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I like it better than PUH too. I prefer the amber base to the dirty vanillin of the EDT. The lavender is sublime.
I think mine is the only positive review in the directory!
can I ask what is the price? my cousin is in Paris at the moment and perhaps I should order it from her.
The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.
I'm afraid I will have to give this one a miss. I can no longer stand the smell of lavander in men's scents
And a whole field of them ??? ... No thank you !
But thanx for sharing, for I have wondered just how different it was from PUH !!??
75ml of Caron L'Impact retails for 120euro. Not bad for a parfum.
I am now convinced that they have added cinnamon in the making of L'extrait.
The base of vanilla also resembles that of Shalimar de Guerlain. It has a very strong vanillin note, as opposed to natural vanilla.

I passed on this when I went to the NY Caron boutique, because they showed it to me and told me it only came in a Splash. Didn't want a splash. Was disappointed.
